Pizzeria Osteria Bella Napoli — Restaurant in Castelnuovo Berardenga

I went to eat here with my wife and our 4 & 2 year old boys on the last night of our two weeks in Italy and this was, genuinely, our best dining experience - having stayed in Verona, in/near Montepulciano, near Pienza and latterly near Siena.

We came for the pizzas and they were truly superb - certainly among the best I have ever eaten. In fact, our 2yo decided to end his holiday hunger strike and actually eat some proper food for the first time on our whole trip, the pizza was so good! The dolci were also delicious, especially the one with chocolate, custard and crumbly/nutty topping which I, unfortunately, can't recall the name of.

The staff were all pleasant, welcoming, and patient with me in my efforts to use my limited Italian! The bill was incredibly reasonable too - among the best value we've had in Italy. We will certainly return when next in...

We stayed in Napoli for a few days and even indulged in the great Sorbillo pizzeria a couple of times. THIS is comparable and quite possibly right up there with the top pizzerias. We had the margherita and bufala DOP but give the slight edge to the margherita. We have now been here about 5 times since we are staying near Siena for a month and plan on visiting another time or two. For €6 and a great pizza you can’t really beat it. I'd like to give this place a great review - the guy serving us was really sweet and was trying so hard but it just took ages for everything to arrive (even the drinks) and it all arrived at different times. I think maybe there wasn't enough serving and kitchen staff for the number of guests - so worth another try, another time! The food was actually really great, and the location by the river was also excellent. I just left there a bit fed up and glad...
