Maklas — Restaurant in Castiadas

Long story short: good food, great view but severely overpriced with a slightly pretentious vibe.

We chose Maklas because of the positive reviews and the location on the beach.

The service was acceptable, and the food was very good - ordered two pasta dishes, and they were well prepared and presented, albeit a bit expensive themselves.

What really killed it was when I received the bill, the "coperta," which was absent on the menu, was 5 euros per person, and the aperol soda was 10 euros each. I asked the waiter if this was a mistake, and he sheepishly said no, that was the price. To put this in perspective, the bottle of soda water I ordered was 3.5 euros. I have two young children who shared the plates with us, and they were also charged full coperta. A full 40 euros for coperta, 1 aperol soda and 1 aperol spritz - highway robbery.

After three weeks in Sardinia, I have never paid this much for drinks or "coperta," including downtown Cagliari or boutique hotel restaurants with better service.

I don't mind paying more for good service or atmosphere, but I hate feeling like I have been taken advantage of, and this is what the team at Maklas is doing.

An unfortunate way to end an otherwise very nice meal with a beautiful beach view.

At the end of the day, the food was very good. As long as you don't mind the prices at least you...

Great bar itself, the view the sea next door, food quality is good but the staff honestly make this atmosphere less enjoyable. It’s so sad! You feel like a number and orders been taken in such a speed with not even whole sentences being asked. We got questions as soon as we took the last bite like „ok! dessert now?!“ Ähm excuse me? Can I finish chewing? I answered „no thanks“ and could notice the switch of even „less friendliness“ even we had several drinks before and high priced food. Also if you know that feelings that staff is obviously talking about who’s sitting down etc - a bit from „oben herab“ if you know what I mean ;-) ! An absolute yes when you want a view and seafront - an absolute no go, if you wanted to be treated nicely and spent a bit more than 20 min for a meal.

So many nicer obese just around the corner in the other...

If you don't feel like reading everything: it felt like the client is never right in this restaurant. The waiter knows better, even your taste...

We went there several times and it was usually great. But last time we went there my mom ordered a sea ​​bream and received a sea bass. Since we all received our dishes, she didn't want to send it back and wait. She just wanted to eat with us. When we called the waiter to tell him that it was not what she ordered, he totally acted like we were stupid and that we didn't know what we ordered... he never admitted that they made a mistake. In the end, we had proof that we were right since it was written sea bream on the receipt... it was really insulting to be treated like that. I don't think that I will...
