Ristorante Cinese Pechino — Restaurant in Castiglion Fiorentino

We were very excited to see this restaurant, because it got such great reviews. We’re in Italy for 6 weeks and a change of pace is always good. Having said that… It is run by a nice family and is a sweet little place. Please please be aware that if you are from the US, this is NOT the Chinese food you’re used to! The person who said it is like good Chinese food in New York is insane. We both ordered spring rolls, white rice and sweet and sour chicken. The rice was good and the spring rolls were pretty tasty, although very greasy. However, there was absolutely nothing sweet or sour about the main dish and I would never have recognized it as a sweet and sour sauce. It was a basic tomato sauce that was so unbelievably salty it was almost inedible. It could have been used on Spaghetti. My portion had one little piece of green bell pepper and two little pieces of pineapple…which was the ONLY sweetness in the dish. Decisamente il mio ristorante cinese preferito fra tutti quelli frequentati negli anni, non solo nella provincia di Arezzo. Qualità del cibo ottima, sia nei sapori che nella resa in cottura. Personale cordiale e sempre disponibile a rispondere alle tue esigenze. D'estate si può usufruire anche dei tavoli all'aperto; purtroppo il portico dove sono sistemati è proprio lungo la strada nazionale, ma sono state create delle 'barriere' che nascondono a sufficienza il passaggio continuo delle auto e non si subisce neanche troppo il rumore del loro passaggio.
