A distanza di un anno e mezzo , mi ritrovo a modificare la recensione sul ristorante . Premetto che il servizio è molto buono , ma il cibo è calato di parecchio . Partiamo con il fatto che la domenica a pranzo è un giorno dove dovremmo trovare il menù alla carta abbastanza assortito , mentre invece ci viene subito detto che la scelta si basa su una portata per l' antipasto , una/2 per il primo e una per il secondo . Praticamente è la prassi di cibo che prenderanno i clienti che faranno il percorso. Allora non mettete la scelta di menù alla carta . Cmq antipasti parecchio sotto la media davvero , parmigiana riscaldata , assolutamente nulla di che , primo idem e uguale per il secondo. Alla fine speriamo di rifarci con il dessert.... un cannolo servito in modo tristissimo ( mi riferisco al piatto ) , perdonatemi l'ironia ma io a casa li faccio poi buoni , secondo dolce , una sorta di cubetti al pistacchio , piatto bello , nulla di particolare in base al ristorante . Mi spiace per la recensione , ma chi prenota e viene a mangiare in un posto così , e paga per un certo genere di livello ....le aspettative dovrebbero essere altre.

Great place, with a nice location at a winery. The service was excellent and the food was good. The parmigiana was absolutely delicious, however the pasta with broccoli was quite disappointing, it had no flavor, not even enough salt. The vegetable burger was good but nothing really extraordinary. The desert was as well very good especially paired with the local desert wine!

The food was good. But I don't understand why beef from Uruguay is served when I ate better beef everywhere in Sicily. Views of the vineyards, but most of the wine comes from the other side of Sicily. "Catch of the day" in the middle of the mountains? The staff "plays" the theater of a fine dining restaurant, but repeats one learned phrase over and over.

Great place, with a nice location at a winery. The service was excellent and the food was good. This was probably the happiest accidental spot I discovered in Sicily. If you like wine and food and are near this area, you shouldn’t miss it. I was driving nearby trying to do a tasting at another winery, which in typical fashion, the help was out to lunch, or whatever. I was staying at Il Picciolo nearby, and after venturing out, found this spot on the map. Probably as good a food and wine experience I had in all of Sicily!

Do a wine tasting (opt for the slightly more expensive premium wines) along with the beef tartare and a bowl of macherone. Even the complimentary bruschetta and pane I tasted were unbelievable, not to mention the best olive oil I’ve probably ever had. Take home a couple bottles and enjoy! Firriato promptly responded to and honored our reservation for a wine tasting experience, after our having found the other surrounding wineries randomly closed even after having confirmed reservations and confirming their hours.

Roberto, our sommelier at Firriato, was passionate about the wine and food pairings, spoke extensively and personally of the history of Mt. Etna , its wines, agriculture, and peoples. In our reservation, we had informed Roberto of our desire to taste only whites and he was not only able to accommodate but he tailored the whites that would showcase and pair best with The dishes served. The wines and the food were such a delight in the palate.

We were very much looking forward to eating here, with a 4.7 average rating — but what a disaster…

This was literally the worst food I have ever been served in a restaurant. The gnocchi, at €27, which was supposed to have truffle on it, was inedible. It was carrot-based but completely grey, in some unrecognizable sauce. The fish was completely dry. After one bite, we decided to leave.

The staff were friendly and the sparkling wine was nice, but the food… In a country with such an amazing food culture, we really don’t know what...
