Mirko La Rosa - Pizza Chef — Restaurant in Catania

Visited today. Inside is quite big and spacious,around 8-10 tables. Menu is only in Italian, so tourists need to use online web. The place has its own webpage. But the waiter kindly borrowed us also his phone. I ordered normal Bronte pizza,not fried and my GF ordered Carbonara. They didnt have any drinks except beer and water,we asked for wine and/ or prosecco, both finished they said (visited at 8:15pm approx.). The dough of the pizza was great in both cases,but the flavor was somehow lost. The carbonara tastes good only with bacon-type of ingredient,without it the cheese almost without flavor,cant even describe it properly. My pizza was calzone type of pizza, the pistacio-part didnt almost have any flavor and with ham and cheese,it was kind of ok. I regret not to test put my favorite Quatro formaggi,too bad for me :(. Is around the corner and we stay here 4more days,but wont visít...

The pizza here is hauntingly good! To an extent that it stays a core memory. I came all the way back to Catania from Siracusa just to have it again. The chef really knows what he’s doing and is generous with portions and ingredients. The staff is also lovely! Friendly, receptive and helpful. And finally, it’s impossible not to mention that the prices are excellent. If I lived here I would eat...

A lot of pizza places were closed on Monday night so we ventured further out to this place for take away. Ordered 3 normal sized pizzas ( Margherita, Norma, & porcina) and they were good after a 12 minute walk back home. The leftovers were good the next morning....
