Trattoria Villa — Restaurant in Cavaion Veronese

Very good food in a Osteria d'Italia atmosphere (that book directory is a must, almost as much as the Michelin guide, if you want to taste traditional Italian food with an eye to price/quality ratio). You can trust the owners of Trattoria Villa and the cook for fish (seppioline in umido, bigoli con le sarde) and kids menu (cotoletta con patate). Excellent side dishes as well. We did not try the luccio fish: an excuse to return! Wonderful landscape near Garda lake.

Hint: When I travel I always keep a copy of Osterie d'Italia book in my car: it is the best guide and it never missed a hit in suggesting the right and convenient restaurant especially when I never went to that...

Absolutely incredible restaurant— we came two days in a row while visiting Bardolino. We loved everything we ordered, from the mussels appetizer to the salad, the duck ragú and the seafood pasta are to die for, and the meat dishes are juicy and cooked to perfection. The Bardolino wine was light and refreshing and the tiramisu had the perfect texture.

All of the waiters are incredibly friendly and welcoming.

A éviter un Dimanche sans avoir réservé et surtout prix limites. Seule la vue est agréable. Nous avons dû attendre 3/4 Heure sans qu'on nous propose ni une boisson ni de biscuits apéritifs. Apparemment il vaut mieux être de la région ou être de nationalité allemande car une majorité de retraités germaniques et de Sociétés teutonnes se sont implantés dans la région du Lac de Garde. Bref le personnel limite, pas aimables. Tout est facturé (2 coperti = le fait de dresser la table et de poser quelques grissini et quelques petits pains pas frais). Total addition sans dessert, sans même un compensation pour l'attente = 70 Euros pour 2 personnes. Au même prix en France on peut prétendre à une cuisine gastronomique et un service est plus soigné, attentionné et professionnel en France. Pourquoi chercher si loin alors que la France regorge de restaurants pittoresques, avenants et gastronomiques.
