La Locanda del Sagittario — Restaurant in Ceprano

Absolute rip off. They don't provide you with a menu stating that the items vary depending on availability of produce. There's a board at the entrance which states 4 courses for 15 euros. The lady asked us if we would like fish or meat. We (2 adults) opted for a fish and a pasta (with bacon despite us requesting for chicken!)recommended by the chef who came out to take the order as well. The food was just about average. We were then presented a bill for 40 euros for 1 pasta dish and two antipasti. I queried the bill as it didn't make sense. The lady sheepishly told me that fish costs extra. When I asked her why weren't told when she gave us the option (of fish or meat) in the first place, she gave me an wry smile and apologised but didn't offer to amend the bill. I also pointed out that we had only two out of the 4 courses but madam pretended not to understand!! Stay away from...

The Tagliata Reale Angus, insalata, tonnarello cacio e pepe, and fettuccine alla boscaiola were perfect. Steak was cooked to medium rare, and amazingly flavorful. The tonnarello was creamy, salty (from the parmesan), and perfect amount of pepper. The fettuccine was delicious and hearty with sausage and porcini mushrooms. The salad was dressed delicately with a simple oil & vinegar dressing.

Oh- The portions are made to be shared for two people. So, I suggest ordering a first course & a second course to share.

Sono stata a cena qualche sera fa in questo locale con la mia famiglia. Ad accoglierci c'era Antonella, con sorriso e gentilezza ci ha fatto accomodare al tavolo, in giardino.... Molto piacevole cenare all'aperto in una fresca serata estiva!! Abbiamo iniziato la cena con una focaccia, gentilmente offerta dalla casa, per poi continuare con una pasta condita con alici e mollica di pane, buona, anche se x mio gusto troppo saporita (ovviamente con le alici era prevedibile!!!)... Come secondi, abbiamo scelto sia grigliata di pesce che l'Angus, poiché Antonella ci aveva consigliato di provarle entrambe, accompagnati da patatine fritte e verdure grigliate.... Che dire?!?! I secondi sono il punto forte dello Chef Davide.... Il tonno e i calamari grigliati erano squisiti e la carne superlativaaaaa!!!! 😋 Abbiamo terminato la cena con il caffè e amaro, gentilmente offerti, come da consuetudine. Giusto il rapporto qualità prezzo. Siamo rimasti davvero soddisfatti di tutto, dal cibo al trattamento dei proprietari, Davide ed Antonella, che con la loro gentilezza e il loro sorriso riescono a trasmettere l'amore e la passione che hanno per il lavoro che svolgono! Locale stra-consigliato. Torneremo...
