La Bottega Del Gusto — Restaurant in Cerro Maggiore

We chose to eat here while on our way from Milan to MXP airport the night before our flight back home. Right from when we walked in, the ambience is very serene and inviting. Our server, Mino, spoke excellent English and was hospitable making the extra effort to answer questions and educate us on many of the items, and local Italian fare, in general. We tried their pizzas and pastas including gnocchi and carbonara. The food was very well prepared with a fresh, homecooked taste. For dessert, the chocolate lava cake was equally palatable. Overall, La Bottega Del Gusto and our host Mino surpassed our expectations making for a very enjoyable and memorable pleasant surprise on our final night in Italy, and is certainly a hidden gem a bit farther out from the main attractions, but well worth a visit. We arrived at our hotel for our last night in Italy after a hard day with lots of travel. Nevertheless, for a last dinner we were looking for a nice restaurant close to the hotel, to end the experience and we bet on this restaurant which turned out to be very successful! Although the menu is only in Italian, the staff was very patient and helpful, the food was excellent, they took care of our child, and they arranged a glass of wine for me even though they basically only sell bottles. Ho mangiato qui qualche mese fa e ho mangiato pesce senza infamia ne lode ma ho mangiato bene. Oggi sono riandato per la seconda volta e ho ordinato gli stessi piatti, antipasto di pesce gratinato e grigliata per secondo….e qui l amara sorpresa, l antipasto era bene impiattato ma appena messo in bocca la capa Santa….blah un gustaccio e ancora peggio le cozze, mentre gamberi argentini e capalonghe erano buone. Subito chiamo la gentile cameriera che mi porta via il piatto e le dico che il piatto glielo pagavo lo stesso in quanto avevo mangiato metà, poi le ho chiesto di sospendere il secondo visto che non volevo altre brutte sorprese, così ho preso semplicemente una pizza margherita che invece era buona. Non voglio fare polemiche perchè può succedere ma consiglio al cuoco di PRESTARE PIÙ ATTENZIONE. Apprezzo molto il gesto del titolare che mi ha fatto pagare solo la pizza. È stato molto onesto, mi è successo in un ristorante a Vicenza che invece mi hanno fatto pagare lo stesso un pezzo di carne che puzzava tantissimo. Spero di aver fatto una critica costruttiva senza...
