From the moment I crossed the threshold, I was instantly captivated by its cosy ambience. The inviting interior, soft lighting, and irresistible aroma combined to create a homely feel that transports you directly into the heart of a traditional Italian kitchen. But as wonderful as the atmosphere was, it was the culinary journey that truly made this an unforgettable experience.
While the restaurant offered a splendid array of traditional Italian dishes, it was their pizza that truly stole the show. Rarely have I encountered such a harmonious symphony of taste and texture. The foundation of this masterpiece, the pizza crust, was an exquisite balance between a light, airy interior and a beautifully crispy exterior - a testament to the profound understanding of fermentation and baking techniques.
The tomato sauce was a revelation in itself. Bursting with the tangy sweetness of the ripest, juiciest tomatoes, it provided a vibrant contrast to the creamy, dreamy mozzarella that followed. The mozzarella - soft, rich, and meltingly perfect - was simply divine.
The selection of toppings, while inventive, remained anchored in authenticity. Each ingredient was a thoughtful choice, designed to complement and not overshadow the fundamental elements of the pizza. From the classic Margherita to the more avant-garde options, each pizza was a homage to Italian culinary tradition.
The spirit of this restaurant was embodied in its dedicated staff. Their commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience, anticipating every need with grace and genuine smiles, transformed this from just a meal into a heartfelt welcome into their Italian family.
In conclusion, my visit to this Italian restaurant was more than just a dining experience - it was an intimate encounter with the rich and mouth-watering soul of Italy. For anyone searching for the true essence of Italian cuisine, particularly an out-of-this-world pizza, I couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough. This is not just food - it's a slice of...
Read moreBig disappointment – tourist trap with unprofessional service
We visited Rosmarino Ristorante Pizzeria in Ciampino during our holiday in Italy, and unfortunately, it was by far the worst experience of the entire trip.
There were three of us, and we wanted to order one appetizer (bruschetta) and two pizzas. Instead of simply taking our order, the waiter told us that it’s not allowed in their restaurant for three people to order just one starter and two main courses. He insisted we should order more food, saying we would “definitely eat more.” It felt very unprofessional and like a clear attempt to push tourists into ordering more than they want. Nowhere else in Italy did we encounter anything like this.
He then said he needed to check with his manager whether our order could be accepted. He promised to return — but never did. After about 25 minutes, with our drinks already finished and ourselves frustrated and ready to leave, a second waiter suddenly brought out our food — without any explanation or confirmation that the order had gone through.
While we were eating, no one checked on us or asked if we wanted more drinks. The original waiter completely ignored us. To make matters worse, the table was set for only two — even though there were three of us — so we had to share cutlery and napkins.
When we went to pay, we were charged a €3 service fee per person, totaling €9. We have no issue with the charge itself — but with the poor and unprofessional service we received, it felt completely unjustified.
The only positive? The food. The bruschetta was excellent and the pizzas were tasty. Unfortunately, that was the only thing that met expectations.
We definitely do not recommend this restaurant. We came hoping for a pleasant evening and left disappointed — feeling like we had fallen into a tourist trap.
To avoid any misunderstandings, I am attaching photos from our...
Read moreOur flight was overbooked, and we were placed in a hotel in this area til we could fly out the next day (definitely off the beaten path for tourists). We were not too excited about this change in plans or our prospects for good food, but happened upon this place with a 4.9 rating. Hmm, ok, let’s check it out.
OMG, had the BEST food in all of Italy. And so CHEAP. The waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent recommendations - you could tell he enjoyed his job and loved the food as well (I think it speaks volumes when the wait staff rave about the food - not always common!). We got a starter of mixed fried vegetables - the stuffed fried olives were amazing. Mixed salad was simple and delicious. Ordered one of the Tonnarelli pasta dishes - one of the best things I ate on our entire trip. Very rich but very satisfying. My fiance got the amatriciana pasta - also enjoyed it very much. We went back later that evening for more - cacio e pepe pasta, bruschetta, and tiramisu. All amazing, home cooked delicious food. Truly sad I cannot easily visit again - my fiancé and I both said if we lived nearby, we absolutely would eat there weekly, if not more often (and we love to cook and our both good cooks btw!).
If you are touring Rome and have a car, make the drive out to this little restaurant. Appears that the locals here love this place too! You will NOT be...
