Trattoria Il Cacciatore — Restaurant in Civitella Paganico

Imagine a place where you get a menu WITHOUT any single trace of price, where even a young girl working there speaks NO ENGLISH giving you no chance to communicate or ask for the price, where an elderly lady shows very little interest in you when you don't want any acqua that day, where the tortelli is dry and seems like previously frozen and where you have to wait 15 minutes for a bill feeling ignored because you did not fulfill elderly lady's expectations for an even client. And that is this place - working in the worst posibble manner on the day (Wednesday) when the other competitive restaurant in town is closed, treating clients like servants who should only bring the money having no expectations. Visiting this place left bad impression of Pari that stole our heart during first visit. Waste of time, hope and money. Ps. We had dinner with my family. No booking, just be there around 6/7pm max. You stay at a local family house and it's very typical!

The food is awesome 😎💪 Some of the staff looks moody all the time but this is the Italian style. No price, no menu, so be prepared to have a some random prices even though for what we ate, it was really fair !!!!

And please FOR GOD SAKE, if you don't take cards, mention it, say it BEFORE eating not after.

È difficile dare un parere imparziale su questo posto. Si entra letteralmente in casa d'altri. Non è esattamente un ristorante, una taverna, o una trattoria. È casa dell'oste, per andare in bagno bisogna prima bussare, dopo aver attraversato il salotto dove clienti e familiari guardano la TV sul divano. O è casa loro, o.. fa di tutto per sembrarlo. Sentirsi fuori posto o empatizzare coi presenti dipende dall'umore con cui il cliente si siede. Però viene da domandarsi come possa questa struttura detenere le autorizzazioni per essere un ristorante, o qualcosa di simile, in apparente assenza di uscita di sicurezza, o di ingresso per disabili. Non c'è menù, neanche una lavagnetta, e non accettano bancomat o carte di credito. E se siete senza contanti il primo ATM si trova a Paganico. Però. Però l'oste, un signore arzillo piuttosto in gamba, cucina carne nel camino del tinello (è splendido vederlo all'opera), ed è deliziosa. E anche i primi e i famosi fritti, pur senza gridare al miracolo, sono molto buoni. Solo il vino delude un po', ma se si chiede un vino buono, Siro ha anche quello. Insomma, la valutazione dipende dalle cose a cui si da più importanza. Senza dubbio una esperienza da provare, almeno una volta. Di luoghi cosi non ne esistono molti. Da 2 a 5 stelle, in casi come questo vale...
