Wholeheartedly reccomended! Reasonably priced. Since we were not italians and wanted something to eat earlier than late evening - this place saved us twice during our stay. First time we wanted to taste a real italian pizza and they delivered! With a great sense of humor. The man making pizzas said all is done and pretended to have forgotten childrens pizzas. Two seconds later childrens worried faces were delighted by a heart shaped pizza for the girl and car shaped pizza for the boy. Everyone had a laugh. Pizzas were very, very good! I recommend choosing from the special ones - they are well worth it.

Second time we arrived for something else. Children were given coloring books and pencils. They even opened the kitchen a bit earlier for us. And my sons dropped fork was replaced before anyone noticed. We were all very happy with our dishes and presentation. I wish we had the time to visit...

On our way back from Bolzano, we stopped at Lo Scoiattolo for a quick dinner. No tables at first, but a friendly waitress seated us after just five minutes—off to a good start.

The place is a classic South Tyrolean bistro/pizzeria with a typical menu. The barley soup was a standout—rich, flavorful, and beautifully served. Easily the best I’ve had in Tyrol.

Breaded meat with parmesan was juicy and well-made, and the black dough pizza, though slightly overcooked, was still tasty. Local beer was a nice touch.

As I planned to go skiing over the New Year’s weekend, my friends and I did not plan out where to eat. Last minute, we collectively decided to go out for a quick bite after a long day on the mountain. It was not a quick bite. We had reservations for 7 PM. We ended up staying at the restaurant for several hours enjoying the excellent food, vibes, music, and people. I thought long and hard to find something to complain about, but I cannot think of a single thing. I ordered the venison and polenta as my main dish and it was PERFECT. I would go back to this restaurant any day...
