Worst and most outrageous service in a long time.

We, 3 families with a total of 12 people (children included) had booked a table on Friday 17.06.2022 at the Ristorante Riviera on Lake Caldonazzo. It started promisingly but our waiter was very rude and stressed from the beginning. Despite the relatively short waiting time for the dishes we had simply ordered, such as pasta and pizza, they were not all brought at the same time. A few minutes would not have been a problem, but waiting almost 50 minutes for a pizza after most people had already had their coffee was a bit too much. I asked the waiter what the problem was, because the neighbouring tables that had ordered long after us were already finished with their food. The waiter replied annoyed that it was just the way it was and that we should wait. No apology, no concession. The pizza arrived so late that we didn't want to take advantage of it. When we paid the bill, we were in for another surprise. We had listed the so-called "coperto", which is usual in Italy, on the bill at about € 30.00 for 12 people. An impertinence, considering that we ordered 6 salads and only received 3 slices of bread. When I asked the waiter if this was normal and we had to pay such a high price for it, he replied again, YES, that's how it is. We only had pizza anyway and I shouldn't make such a fuss. That was too much and I asked for the owner. The owner was completely taken aback, but neither an apology nor a price concession was forthcoming, so we ended up paying a whopping €300.00 for some salad, pizza and pasta and one "secondo piatto" with meat.

Location / Looks: The restaurant has a beautiful view. You can see the lake beautifully while eating your dinner. The restaurant itself looks nice and clean, although minor upgrades could be made.

Food: So, I went to this restaurant several times with my family. We have eaten anything from different pizzas to different sorts of meat. We all agreed that the food was really good. Also the portions are not too big not too small, but just fine.

Customer service: The staff is very friendly and they look fancy. Also the tables look nice and this is one of the fewer restaurants with linen napkins.

Amazing place to eat! Best pizza I had in Italy, and everyone in our group was only saying praise about the different dishes they had! The service was top notch, all really professional and never had such fast service in a non fast-food restaurant. The atmosphere is lively and it's definitely family friendly. This place does celebrate a guests birthday by a few seconds of song which was nice to see, but could be off-putting for some persons.
