Our visit at Ristorante Pizzeria Bar Lido started off a bit weird. We were there on a Wednesday evening and they were closed. So we checked out the outside area in advance. We decided to come back the following Friday and were there when they opened for dinner at 18:30. When we asked for a table for 2 they asked if we reserved and when we said no , they told us everything was reserved. There were still so many empty tables without signs I couldn't believe it. Also, there was no information or sign anywhere that they prefer reservations. Then another group of 4 came and they also hadn't reserved and were given a table. So the head waitress had no choice but to give us a table as well. We sat down and felt really weird and wondered why they tried sending us away. After some observation it became clear that they sent couples away and only welcomed groups which I found a bit disturbing, especially if there are still so many available tables.

The service was a bit dismissive at first and everyone was a bit hectic and apparently some things didn't go as planned but at least our order came the way it was supposed to.

The food was absolutely delicious! 🤤 From all the restaurants where we ate during our stay at Lago Maggiore this was by far the best pasta and dessert I had. Also the pizza dough was an absolute delight. I had the cannelloni-in-short type of pasta with seafood with tomatoes. The sauce was so perfectly seasoned, I had to dip the bread in it to leave no trace behind. My mother had the Pizza Made in Italy which was also really nice. The mozzarella on top had some firmness to it, which I love, and was so tasty. The insalata mista on the side was also rich in vegetables. More than you usually get. Bell peper, carrot, rocket salad, tomatoes. The dessert, oh my god, was an absolute dream. Both the panna cotta and the Tiramisu were absolutely perfect. Creamy Tiramisu and light and refreshing panna cotta with a beautiful hint of vanilla.

The prices are fair for the quality of food you're getting. I really really recommend eating here but make sure to reserve a table, especially if you...

"Un po' delusa: Dopo averlo provato con amici, ed essendone rimasta molto soddisfatta al punto da raccomandarlo, ci siamo tornati in gruppo di 30. Prenotato menù fisso di pesce o carne con antipasto e primo o secondo, piùun'opzione vegetariana. All'arrivo, dopo lunga attesa, arrivano solo i piatti principali. Discussione con il personale, che ci passa al telefono la proprietaria, la quale parla di incomprensioni sull'ordine, difficili da credere perché tutti avevamo le conversazioni scambiate via wa per la scelta del menù. Pur scusandisi e offrendosi di scontare coperto, caffè e limoncello, non offre una soluzione per il menu, quindi ci accontentiamo accordandoci con il personale per farci portare quel che c'e. E questo per il servizio. Anche il cibo non ha soddisfatto le mie aspettative: la salsa dei famosi paccheri con pomodorini, olive, capesante e gamberi, già provati e molto apprezzati, si riduce ad un sugo di pomodoro un po' crudo e qualche gamberetto, 1 oliva per piatto, naturalmente riscaldati dopo l'inutile attesa dall'antipasto, e quindi scotti. Capesante non pervenute, almeno nel mio piatto. Più che mangiabili, intendiamoci, ma niente a che vedere con le foto descrittive ne' col mio ottimo ricordo. Roastbeef stopposo e troppo cotto, buoni invece i tagliolini ai funghi, buono, anche se non ricchissimo, il fritto misto ordinato in aggiunta e le verdure grigliate. Buono il menu vegetariano richiesto per una invitata. Siamo stati comunque bene, il personale gentile benché lasciato solo a gestire una situazione difficìle. Siamo rimasti con l'impressione di una scarsa capacità organizzativa e di gestione delle emergenze da parte della proprietà, benché si dica abituata a gestire grandi gruppi. Negli scambi si è sottolineato che abitualmente gestiscono le ordinazioni completamente per telefono mentre nel nostro caso c'è stato un mix di messaggi e telefonate. Tanto più credo che si sarebbe dovuto chiedere una conferma telefonica, se si è verificato che è il miglior modo per evitare errori. Forse c'è stata anche qualche incongruenza nell'approvvigionamento, visto il piuttosto misero risultato dei paccheri. Infatti ci siamo chiesti: se fossimo arrivati in piccoli gruppi anziché tutti insieme e avendo prenotato, cosa ci avrebbero servito, dato che non disponevano di antipasti o alternative? Piccolo quack spiacevole anche se in fondo un dettaglio: chiesto di portare via i resti della torta (fornita da noi) ne arriva la metà di quella rimasta... Comunque posizione fantastica, adatto ai bambini, ben apparecchiato, speriamo in un miglior incontro dopo questa non entusiasmante...

First night at Lago Camp, so what do you do?! You go for a traditional Italian pizza. Despite the pizza’s were ok, not everything used was fresh. There were can veggies on the pizza. I expected different. The view is great! Use anti musquito lotion, otherwise you’ll get stinged here.

I must correct myself. The owner explained the ingredients in the Calzone pizza. I thought it had to be fresh, but you’ve got to use some products out of oil. An extra star added. Mosquitoes aren’t a problem, just a reminder for people to bring lotion! We forgot ;)
