Ristorante Bar Castel Toblino — Restaurant in Comunità della Valle dei Laghi

We went for a lunch because the place has a Michelin recommendation and the location looked lovely. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed by the quality, or total lack of, the food. We had two different starters and two different pasta dishes. One starter was a huge lumb of semi-raw meat of questionable quality. We had only one bite and left the rest. The other starter was some kind of weird raw fish roll - absolutely terribly. The one pasta dish had a cream of zucchini cream and the best thing we could say about it, is that it tasted basically of nothing at all. That was unfortunately not true for the gnochis which came in a mixture of a soapy tasting pesto and very fat bacon. We had again only two spoons and left the restaurant. Although we barely touched any of the four dishes, no apologies or offering from the restaurant to reduce the invoice. A truly terribly experience and by far the worst food we had in our two weeks in Italy. Stay away!

P.S.: It appears that this restaurant has a lot of five star and also a lot of one star reviews. Maybe the chef has changed or there are different chefs involved. I can only judge my experience of that day, perhaps the quality is different...

My wife and I went to the castle/restaurant entrance and we were received by the restaurant waiter.

Disclaimer: we didn't know that guided tours had to be booked in advance and in specific dates.

At first he welcomed us friendly, but once we asked if there were any guided tours, the treatment got completely different. He was really disrespectful with us saying that this place was receiving a private event and invited us to leave.

We said sorry as we were confused which he responded: "yeah, you should be sorry".

My wife laughed nervously and he said: "don't need to be sarcastic, I accept your apologies"

Never saw anything like that before. Completely arrogant and disgusting behaviour. Out of the blue, completely unnecessary.

I hope, as others said in other reviews, that he is not the owner.

Owner, if you see this, you should ask to this man learn some respect.

È difficile esprimere a parole l’emozioni vissute grazie a questo magnifico luogo e allo staff impeccabile! Ho scelto Castel Toblino per festeggiare il mio matrimonio lo scorso 27/08.

PARTIAMO DALLA LOCATION Un posto magico, un’atmosfera veramente suggestiva in cui si respira romanticismo in ogni angolo. C’è tutto, un bellissimo giardino in cui poter fare l’aperitivo, delle sale pazzesche ampie e ben curate in cui svolgere il pranzo e il bar in cui poter continuare la festa la sera. Il tempo per una volta non è assolutamente un elemento di ansia nei preparativi perché questo posto ha spazi tali da consentirti di fare aperitivo e pranzo all’interno comunque utilizzando spazi diversi. Per esempio, il giorno del mio matrimonio ha piovuto mattina e pomeriggio ma posso assicurare che questo non ha minimamente rovinato l’evento, per non parlare delle foto che sono venute pazzesche con la luce e lo sfondo che avevamo a disposizione! PASSIAMO AL PRANZO Solitamente è difficile riuscire a mangiare bene durante i matrimoni, si trova sempre il risotto scotto o il piatto che con tanti invitati viene sbagliato. BE’ NON E’ QUESTO IL CASO!!! Tutti i piatti erano ECCEZIONALI, curati nel minimo dettaglio anche dal punto di vista estetico oltre che del gusto! L’impiantamento era molto originale, non c’era nulla di banale né dal punto di vista visivo né del gusto Le porzioni perfette e devo dirlo, ho mangiato tutto con grandissimo gusto! Tutti i miei 74 ospiti, compresi molti bambini hanno mangiato tutto facendo addirittura il bis! LO STAFF Lo ho lasciato per ultimo, ma non di certo per importanza. Il pranzo di 6 portate si è svolto in meno di tre ore, la permanenza al tavolo non ha pesato a nessuno perché questi ragazzi sono stati veloci ed efficienti dall’inizio alla fine. Non tralasciamo il fattore SORRISO, perché l’intero staff è stato di una gentilezza immensa e con un sorriso sempre in volto che non faceva percepire la fatica e la stanchezza Hanno sicuramente contribuito a creare una meravigliosa atmosfera IN CONCLUSIONE mi sento di consigliare vivamente questo splendido posto gestito da Toni Shkreli e moglie, due padroni di casa con i controfiocchi. Si vede che amano veramente il loro lavoro, sono disponibili a qualsiasi cosa pur di cercare di accontentare ogni tua richiesta. Anche loro sempre con il sorriso sul volto sono due grandissimi lavoratori che mettono anima e soprattutto cuore in quello che fanno. Grazie per gli splendidi ricordi che grazie a voi...
