Trattoria da Berto — Restaurant in Corniglio

Reserved a day in advance only to be told on arrival that the reservation had been cancelled. I got the notification of the cancellation 15mins after the time for which the table was booked. Appalling service and not so much as an apology.

In reply - the attitude of the manager was also poor. He was unhelpful, looked at us like we were dirt - I did wonder if being foreign was the problem or having a child with us. The Fork may have not notified us soon enough but our complaint was as much about the attitude of the manager when the mistake was realized. Absolutely horrid! One star review...

Siamo riusciti a prenotare in tempo prima della chiudera ancora in zona arancione. Il posto è in montagna, su in alto a Corniglio, per la strada verso i laghi. Parcheggio sulla strada e vicino alla chiesetta con vista sulle montagne. Il proprietario, ci ha fatto accomodare nella stanzetta sulla destra appena all'entrata, tavolo da 4 dove eravamo casualmente da soli. Il personale ci ha accudito e non ci ha fatto mancare assolutamente nulla. "non vi voglio far andare via con la fame!", è la frase che mi è rimasta impressa detta dal proprietario. Abbiamo preso, antipasto, primo, secondo, contorno e 2 dolci con 2 bottiglie di vino. Come antipasto della spalla cotta, salame, coppa, prosciutto e ciccioli con del pane morbido. Ci hanno fatto assaggiare anche da parte, 4 fritelline di castagne, che erano ottime ottime. Come primi piatti abbiamo preso tagliatelle con pasta di salame, tortelli d'erbette e tortelli di cotechino. Era tutto ottimo ottimo e ti veniva voglia di mangiarne un bis. Come secondo abbiamo mangiato il cosciotto di capretto e lo stracotto di cervo con patate al forno. Poco dopo ci hanno servito 2 dolci molto molto ricchi e invitanti. What an incredible place! 10/10 for everything! I would suggest a table outside - magical. The cheese plate with marinated veggies are a must! Also, a special thank you to Georgia, our cameriera - she was just the best! So attentive, knowledgeable, fast, caring, simply lovely!
