My partner and I, along with our 9 month old baby, were attending a friend's wedding in Italy in Ascoli in late September and took the opportunity to combine our trip with 8 days at the sea-side staying at the Hotel Europa (recommended to us by an Italian friend) in the Adriatic resort of Cupra Marittima. It was low season and we took a chance with the weather but were very fortunate, having only 2 cloudy days, the rest, beautiful blue skies. ||||Cupra is a small friendly town, and our hotel was barely a few minutes walk to the hotel's private beach maintained & attended by the ever-helpful Giovanni, and our son enjoyed his first experience of the beach and sea which with its shallow waters is ideal for a young child or toddler.||Giovanni was typical of the staff at the Hotel Europa who were all without exception friendly and welcoming. ||||A special mention is reserved for Gabriele, who looked after us at meal-times. We were on full board and so visits to the hotel's restaurant were regular and frequent, and this became a highlight of each day, not only because of the mostly lovely & plentiful food, but also because of his individual attention and care, particularly to our young son who was just beginning to eat solids. To refer to him as our "waiter" is not to do justice to his role within the hotel. Suffices to say that he has worked at the family-run Hotel Europa - celebrating its 50th anniversary this year - for 20 years! ||And this is the telling detail. ||||The entire experience of staying at the Hotel Europa was lovely. We felt really looked after by all of the staff, and once our food orders were in for the day, really had nothing else to do except relax and enjoy ourselves. Everything else was taken care of. And by the end of our stay, we all felt refreshed and replenished (and a few kilos heavier!)||Such was the experience, that when eventually our time to leave arrived, we were genuinely sad to go.||||A little gem of a place, mainly down to the attentive staff on hand. And very family friendly. ||||Should the opportunity arise again, we would...

Read moreI stayed here 6 years ago and the room was small and needed updating. They shut off the air conditioning at the height of the summer heat then, in the middle of the night. |This time I must say the rooms were updated and with additional electronic features. AC was not an issue. Electricity was tied in to the room key so when you were present in the room all worked well. Clean rooms and comfortable bed with large outdoor balcony. Quiet and easy access to the beach and most of this quaint town. The service was great and they were very accommodating. Food was great too! Very nice staff. Definitely would recommend over any other hotel in that area. Will be staying there again on my next...
