Attention - if you are a tourist and do not want to spoil your holiday, then you should not visit this restaurant!!! Tourists are treated second class in this restaurant as you can also read in several TA reviews.
I reserved a table in the restaurant last year by phone. We had to drive 30 minutes to get to the restaurant. As we entered the restaurant, the owner's son (i guess he is) was filling the fridge. We greeted politely but the junior ignored us and kept working in the fridge, showing us his back. A table was occupied, otherwise only a large table for many people was prepared but empty. I wondered where we should sit. At some point the junior took pity and turned to us. We were already 2 minutes in the restaurant without anyone caring about us. I told him we had reserved a table. He answered extremely rude that no table was reserved in my name and they had no table for us. I insisted on the reservation and he called his father. He was a bit friendlier but also claimed that we had not made a reservation. I showed him the number on my phone's display but he said the number was not the one from the restaurant. Funny that I had made a reservation on this number and that was the same number as stated on the Internet. Anyway, we had to go. An apology did not follow. I assume that we have been "booked out" for the large guest table of familiar Italian customers. In my view a huge sour.
I have eaten in the restaurant before and the food is really good, but after a friend of mine had also made a very negative experience with the restaurant owners and we have spoiled the evening, I can only recommend to anyone, not to eat here (especially as there are restaurants close by like Mirage or Crar'e Luna who really appreciate tourists). There is quite a high risk you will regret even calling "Da Angelo".
The unfriendly behavior of the son was unworthy of the otherwise typical hospitality of the Sardinians. Me and my parents have been coming to Sardinia since the seventies, we have not experienced such a rude...
Read moreBEWARE - It is a con. We went based on a good rating. This was by far the worst restaurant on our trip here. We ordered two plates of shrimp at €18 per plate. On plate of 10 medium shrimp came, €3.60 per shrimp. They were over cooked and not great quality. We also had the Sea Bass which were small and thin and we questioned whether it was Sea Bass. This was the most disappointing dish. It was not fresh and tasted bad as though not properly cleaned. The Sea Bass at our hotel was amazing and we looked forward to having it again but couldn’t have been more disappointed. There was absolutely nothing served with any of the dishes, literally nothing. We ordered a side green salad and it was Iceberg lettuce chopped up, nothing else. We asked to change it for the mixed salad and they brought the same salad back with one tomato chopped up and some red cabbage. We didn’t touch it and said we didn’t want it but they charged us for both salads anyway. We paid and realised later. I don’t know how they have gotten such good reviews. It makes me wonder whether tourists are treated...
Read moreI read another review about how they (do not...) treat foreigners but couldn't believe this could be the case. We only wasted our time driving from the beach to the restaurant after a recommendation by a local. We were not told however that at Da Angelo they are rude and indeed they do not like tourists. We walked in to the very quiet restaurant which was more than half empty and we were told that it was impossible to get a table tonight. It all seemed a bit weird as we understand Italian waiters are not the most courteous but this seemed just an inexplicable lie into our faces. It was 8.20pm and it seemed extremely unlikely that this place would get full later. Obviously they have enough business even if they are sending...
