If I could, I would go for 0/5. Very bad experience with this restaurant. From the start one of the waiters looked annoyed working with people - not a good for job at restaurant - tall man, brown hair, unkempt. We waited about 15 minutes to order. Then we got our order pretty fast and food was good. Meanwhile one of our 5 members went for toilet. This arrogant waiter took 2 waiting guests and seated them to our tabel without asking. We would not have any problem with that, but our 5th member has not space where to sit😅 We told it to the waiter immediately but the only answer was: There is enough space. And he left. We were surprised by behavior like that, so we decided to pay and leave. We tried to ask other waiters to pay, but everyone told us to wait for that arrogant waiter. We asked him 3 times to pay, he only replied: I hear you. And he was knowingly walking around us and keep getting new orders or getting paid from other guests. After circa 15 minutes our member decided to go inside to pay so we could continue. Now listen carefully. This arrogant waiter squeezed arm of our member and pushed this 50 years old woman from the restaurant in front of the eyes of all guests inside. All the time he shouting loud something in german language. He was pushing her many times. 2 meter high hero, haha. And he also started berate at her. Words like F…you, get the f… out etc. One more time, 40 years old man, 2 meter high on 50 years old woman, 1.6m high. In my personal opinion those kind of people should not work with people, when they do not know how to behave. And personally this hero, who attacks women should be fired. Highly recommend to rather visit restaurant 200 meters away from this place called Malga Casnago, there were very...

Rifugio Odle - Geisleralm: Breathtaking Views After a Scenic Hike

Rifugio Odle, also known as Geisleralm, offers an unforgettable experience for those willing to put in the effort. Nestled in the Dolomites, this mountain hut boasts panoramic views that are truly worth the hike.

Prepare for a Scenic Journey:

Reaching Rifugio Odle requires a hike of about 2 hours. While this may deter some visitors, the beauty of the surrounding landscape makes it a worthwhile journey. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, soak up the scenery, and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment upon reaching your destination.

Panoramic Paradise:

Once you arrive at Rifugio Odle, prepare to be stunned. The views from the restaurant terrace are nothing short of phenomenal. Towering peaks, lush meadows, and idyllic valleys stretch out before you, creating a picture-perfect postcard moment.

A Word on Crowds:

Be aware that Rifugio Odle is a popular destination. Especially during peak season, expect crowds and limited table availability at the restaurant. Finding a seat can be challenging, and service times may be slower due to the high volume of customers.

Manage Your Expectations:

If you're set on enjoying a meal at the restaurant, be prepared to wait for a table and potentially experience a slight delay in service. The waiters work hard, but the sheer number of visitors can make things busy.

Overall, Rifugio Odle offers a stunning alpine experience.

The panoramic views are a sight to behold, and the hike to get there adds to the sense of accomplishment.

Just be prepared for crowds and manage your expectations regarding table availability and service times, especially during...

Terrible service - unwelcome waitress, arrogant, ignorant. The food we received was not what is said on the meniu - asked about it out waiter was dismissive. Granted, we came during peak hours. For that reason we ordered drinks and two daily specials. One of the daily special was a soup and it came 40 minutes after ordering (as per our waiter “it takes time for soup”) and 30 min after other dish was served. We ordered two daily specials in a hope that these easy to prepare dishes are available faster during a busy time. Though one was served within reasonable delay, the other was very late. The soup of the day had flavours not usual for a dish and out waiter insisted it had no curry in it while it was obvious it had. Other, much nicer person asked how was out meal and without complaining we explained our experience and she suggested to take one of the dishes off the bill. Nice gesture indeed, but overall experience was spoiled by unwelcoming waiter. Maybe she got crossed when I asked if it would be possible to wipe out bits of food from our table from previous guests - it was not dry bits which I can usually just wipe off myself. To be clear, the table was not cleaned and the request ignored. I hike a lot in the mountains and stay in mountain huts and know what to expect. Despite the most glorious scenery, good drinks and good 1/2 of our order - all of it was spoiled by the...

Great food, but watch out for the “daily specials”! The food at this restaurant is truly delicious — everything we ordered was well-prepared and beautifully presented. We really appreciated the attention to detail and quality in each dish. However, be very careful with the daily specials offered by the waitstaff and written on chalkboards. These options don’t display any prices, and unfortunately, they can be more expensive than anything listed on the actual menu. In our case, we chose a bratwurst with polenta and mushrooms — which turned out to cost an astonishing €28. Honestly, it felt a bit like a trap. How can a simple bratwurst (sausage) dish cost more than a Gulasch or turkey breast (both €24 on the menu)? Our mistake, but we learned our lesson.. from now on always to check the price before ordering... The service was friendly and reasonably quick. We placed our order around 11:30 a.m. If you're planning to visit in July and August, I highly recommend coming early, as the place gets incredibly crowded later on. Overall, a great place to eat, but transparency on daily specials pricing needs improvement.

The hut is in a beautiful location. That's also the only positive aspect of our experience. We ordered two Kaiserschmarrns, which are already quite expensive. First, we only received one portion. We immediately indicated that we'd ordered two, and the answer was, "It'll be right there." Five minutes later, we asked again, and the same answer came. No one from the staff took any action. The second dish didn't arrive until my partner had already finished hers. Second, both portions were of poor quality. They were more like flat and slippery/wet pancakes, not the fluffy, thick pieces they should be. An insult to the name "Kaiserschmarrn." The taste was also subpar. Very disappointing. An overhyped tourist spot. Hopefully, they'll improve this in the future. When we paid, the staff did apologize for the wait, which was polite.
