It would be difficult to find a better restaurant in the region, let alone Favara. Giuseppe is such a generous host, this restaurant is a reminder of why it’s called the “hospitality industry.” The food is locally sourced and tastes like you are eating at the home of a friend (who is a particularly good cook). The prices are unbeatable, especially at this quality. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant and it’s owner.

Abbiamo raggiunto Favara arrivando da Agrigento, attratti dal Cultural Park. Il viaggio è stato già di per se una immersione nella natura che in primavera prende vita e offre tutti i suoi colori e profumi. Il giorno scelto non favoriva grande afflusso di turismo e ci siamo potuti gustare tutta la bellezza delle forme artistiche diffuse che si trovano nella parte di paese recuperata. Già questa sarebbe stata una gioia sufficente da portare a casa come ricordo della giornata. La sosta il questa trattoria-ristorante, è stata la classica ciliegina sulla torta. Con sincerità devo dire che la scelta è caduta quasi per obbligo, non essendoci tante opzioni nei dintorni....però appena entrati, siamo stati accolti con una gentilezza che scalda il cuore. Il proprietario si è curato personalmente di noi offrendoci assaggi di olio locale in attesa delle pietanze ordinate, ci ha lasciati nei nostri discorsi e con i nostri tempi nonostante fossimo prossimi alla loro chiusura ed in più al termine ci ha ulteriormente omaggiato di mandorle e liquore locale. Veramente un piacere scoprire che ci sono ancora luoghi e persone del genere che mettono al primo posto la soddisfazione del cliente e sentono la responsabilità di offrire il massimo delle loro capacità culinarie e qualità dei prodotti a coloro che si siedono al tavolo. We totally understand why U Maccicuni has been rated the #1 restaurant in Favara. Not only were the food portions generous and delicious, but the entire dining experience was also lots of fun. The restaurant exuded a wonderful ambience with a definite local flair. It is always nice to have a highly satisfying meal while also feeling like special participants in the moment.
