Pizzeria &Trattoria il Brigantino — Restaurant in Finale Ligure

Unfortunately can't agree with other reviews here, mainly due to the service. Maybe It was "a bad day" for a waitress, but overall she ruined our experience from having a dinner there :( @food We had pasta with shrimps & pesto - taste/structure and appearance are TOP! - really liked it. But for this price I'd expect to see more than 4 shrimps..hence 4/5 stars @service absolutely worst experience based on many of my trips to Italy. We were asked to leave the restaurant because other people were standing outside. For your information, there was no reservation sign on the table, we weren't warned upfront that we will have to leave early, we spent NOT more than 40 minutes at the restaurant (it was around 19:00-20:00). Moreover, there was still wine left in our glass and the waitress just came to our table and said - look people are waiting, please leave. Don't get me wrong, she seemed polite, but this is simply unacceptable..Besides the above, we had to ask for olive oil, salt and pepper, she never came to fill our glasses with wine - huge mistake, we wanted more..We had to pour our water ourselves. I had a wonderful dinner at Trattoria il Brigantino. This is a smaller restaurant a couple of minutes walk from the Lido Resort and out of the main tourist zone. Cute decor, friendly older couple run the restaurant but don’t speak English but they did have an English menu which was very helpful. "Shrimp" (etymology: scrimp, shrivelled, shrink, puny). A very overpriced meal. 14€ for a tiny bowl of squid, and 17€ for a tiny bowl of pasta with 2 or 3 CHOPPED UP SHRIMP. Who cuts shrimp? These guys do. If I had any faith in them, I'd have asked for a pizza...
