Ristorante Postporta — Restaurant in Gallarate

A great restaurant in Galarate, ambience food service was extremely good. The restaurant is located close to the centre of the town. We were a group of 10 and although they are closed on Tuesdays the agreed to open for our group and few other groups. The food was simply too good. We ordered a mixed starter to share and the a second dish for each. Particularly the sea food Branzino sale was top notch. The selection was wines were very good as well. Siamo clienti del Postporta da tanti anni e in occasione di San Valentino abbiamo deciso di tornare dopo parecchio tempo. Purtroppo, le aspettative sono state decisamente deluse rispetto al ricordo che avevamo di questo ristorante: servizio, per quanto familiare e molto cordiale, ha lasciato a desiderare.. non ci hanno chiesto se volessimo l’acqua fin dall’inizio e ogni volta che portavano un piatto al tavolo non veniva mai né annunciato, né tantomeno spiegato. qualità dei piatti in generale medio-bassa, decisamente lontana da quella a cui eravamo abituati qui (da una millefoglie di polpo e patate semplicemente sovrapposti senza alcun legame di gusto, a dei paccheri privi di sale). presentazione delle portate decisamente non all’altezza, dall’antipasto al dolce; tutto sembrava sporzionato al momento, senza dettagli nè cura nella presentazione (oltre al fatto che mancavano anche alcuni dettagli che invece erano riportati nel menu) musica a tratti, che ogni tanto si ricordavano di riaccendere e facevano sicuramente “spegnere” l’ambiente romantico.

Ci siamo rimasti abbastanza male perché eravamo abituati a tutt’altro livello qui: non so se questo dipenda dal menù fisso proposto a San Valentino - forse sarebbe stata la stessa cosa mangiando alla carta? - e dalla sala piena, ma dovremo...

Amazing! Food and drinks are served from the friendly staff with, at the same time, high professionalism.

The strength of this place is absolutely the huge choice of wines available. You can pick up cheap but nice bottles to the elite.
