Baglio Tramontana — Restaurant in Gangi

This place was, quite simply, faultless. We stumbled upon it after being turned down at a different restaurant - a twist of fate that happened to be the luckiest turn of events for us. From the efficient and friendly service, to the very reasonable prices, to the wonderful setting - this was the best dining experience we had in Sicily (and up there with one of the best we’ve ever had).

The star of the show was the food. Every course was pitch perfect. The pork with caponata starter was divine, the pasta dishes (we had two) were bursting with flavour, the desserts were the perfect sweet note to end the meal. Even the bread was amazing. We were doing a self drive through Sicily and a lovely gentleman from the adidas factory shop recommend we stop in Gangi. I googled restaurants and my eye immediately caught this place. What an amazing hotel and restaurant! Quaint, beautifully kept with with friendly staff. The food was just perfect- the pasta was the best we have ever had! Stumbled upon this gorgeous and cozy oasis in the middle of the beautiful village of Gangi. While everyone was tucked away during the middle part of the day, Nicolo and Mimi were open and welcomed us into their lovely establishment for a perfect Sicilian lunch… cold antipasto with all fresh Gangi-produced offerings such as cheeses, prosciutto and olives, as well as pasta dishes, homemade wine and canoli.
