Il Borgo Nuovo — Restaurant in Gavorrano

We wasted two hours here and left without getting anything.

I visited this place with my brother. Although there were several free tables, the waiter told us there was no room for two people. Fine, perhaps they prioritize larger groups for higher revenue – that’s understandable. He asked us to return in 40 minutes, which we did.

When we came back, another server (a waitress) scolded the waiter for telling us to return and bluntly told us to leave. At that moment, a couple who were just leaving offered us their table, so we decided to stay. After a long day of traveling in Tuscany, we were tired and hungry, and despite the negative atmosphere, we hoped to finally get something to eat.

From the very beginning, we were treated as if we were unwelcome. The menus were literally tossed onto our table, and then we were completely ignored. No one came to take our order, no one even made eye contact with us – as if we didn’t exist. Meanwhile, larger groups were seated and served right away.

After waiting for about 30 minutes, we left deeply upset and humiliated.

We still don’t know whether this happened because of our nationality (Poles), whether we were mistaken for a gay couple, or for some other prejudiced reason. But what we experienced felt discriminatory and left us disgusted. No one deserves to be...

La fine di una tradizione ventennale.

Frequento queste zone della Maremma da ormai più di 20 anni durante il periodo estivo, meta abituale delle mie vacanze. Questo ristorante è sempre stato uno dei "must" della vacanza: non era possibile tornare a casa senza esserci stato almeno un paio di volte a cena. Tutto questo almeno fino a stasera (9 Agosto 24). Sono appena uscito: la fine di una tradizione ! Sono stato stasera a cena con una famiglia di amici, per festeggiare il compleanno di un mio amico. Servizio più scadente del solito (probabilmente l'inesperienza del nuovo cameriere), scelta ridotta ed abbandono dei piatti tradizionali (cinghiale). Prezzi sensibilmente aumentati. Alla fine tutto sarebbe stato superabile, ma ...vado alla cassa con lo scontrino in mano insieme alla mia amica. Chiediamo di pagare con la carta, ciascuno con la sua, dividendo il conto a metà fra le due famiglie: eravamo 7 persone in totale a cena. Risposta: Non è possibile, non si può, altrimenti sarebbe nero!! Sulle prima faccio finta di non aver capito e rispondo" guardi che un conto è lo scontrino, un conto sono le transazioni, cosa c'entra. Risposta " il titolare mi ha detto che non si può e non posso farle pagare il conto con due carte carte diverse, suddividendole il conto, ma se vuole può fare un po in contanti un po con la carta. Il titolare ci ha detto così". Rispondo che non si tratta così un cliente, pago il conto per intero con la mia carta e me ne esco. Non ritornerò più in questo ristorante e consiglio vivamente tutti di evitarlo. I clienti non possono essere presi in giro, adducendo...
