We always visit this restaurant when we come to Genova, and we’ve always enjoyed our time there. This time it was a different experience. Firstly, I’d like to clarify that the waitress was lovely and friendly; however the pizza ordered by my daughter was awful. It had so much cheese it was kind of rubbery. The panna cotta had too much coconut it tasted like sand. However, I appreciate it that on occasion food might not be of the best standard, especially if busy. But the worse of all was the absolutely rube old lady at the till. They gave us the bill for the entire table, which is fine, but she didn’t let us pay for what we ordered. We had to split the bill in equal parts, which was unfair as one of us only had a starter and a coffee. Another person had a pizza and a beer. I ordered 2 starters, one pizza, two dessert, wine and soft drinks (for me and my daughter) Two of us just met, so it was a bit of an uncomfortable experience as we all paid by card, and had no cash with us. Additionally, this’s not an area where you can easily find an ATM to give some money to the unfortunate person that only had a starter and a coffee but ended up paying for my and my daughter’s food. It’d have been different if we were all close friends or family, but we just met today!! The attitude of the old hag at the till (apology for the ‘hag’ but she really was) was appallingly as she was talking quite loudly and aggressively. There were people behind us queuing to pay so we just did as told and left. In fact I was so embarrassed I ended up apologising, just to keep the peace and get out of there asap. The customers behind us even made a joke, saying that perhaps I should’ve paid for everyone! I ended up apologising to the others in the group and will never go back to that place again. It was only 3 of us paying, so it would’ve been easy enough to split the bill accordingly. We could’ve done the maths for her if this was the issue. Overall, a significantly unpleasant experience. Read moreTerrible service, poor customer orientation of Restaurant manager!
Unfortunately, we’re not able to try food… we have booked a dinner table with the view on the terrace a few days in advance, but at the end we were seated on the aisle table. After 20 mins of waiting and talking to 3 different waiters, one of the employees tried to convince us to stay where we were by saying that there was no issue and it was good enough for us. The issue was escalated to the restaurant manager, the older woman who was handing out reservation in person before. She rejected to help us anyhow, she didn’t realise or see her mistake, SHE DID NOT APOLOGISE. It was okay for her to give us a different table and ask to calm down. She was asked if she could give us any solution or complementary service for this issue to remain their customer — the answer was “no”.
Overrated touristic place, great view but service is mediocre, be ready to get something else than you...
Read moreI came here a few times during my Erasmus year a few years ago and would often share the metre pizzas with a large table of friends, so I decided to come back with my boyfriend as he was very curious to have a metre long pizza! We decided that a whole metre was far too much so we settled on a half, and had 3 different types which were all delicious and made us very full (although we still had delicious desserts after) and some lovely, well-priced wine. I had forgotten what a lovely place it was with cool interiors, sadly we didn't get there in time to see the sun set but we luckily still got a seat as we were a bit early and it filled up quickly, but we still had fantastic, fast service and all the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating! I was so happy to show my boyfriend a place I already knew and loved but even happier that it was even better than I...
