Il Torrione — Restaurant in Isole Tremiti

Absolutely wow. I wish we gave san Nicola island more culinary chances during our stay on Tremiti. We had to choose one restaurant for one evening since we mostly dined on San Domino (meh with a couple exceptions) and for our dinner at San Nicola we had the luck and privilege to eat at this restaurant. Extremely simple menu is usually a good sign. This time we could choose out of 4 dishes. Antipasti, two types of pasta and a seafood fritter. We went for the seafood antipasti (4 different appetisers with different fish) and one pasta each - cavatelli rolled with 4 fingers - wide; with vongole and fish ravioli. The atmosphere was great, the view was romantic and the service excellent, the delicious white wine complemented the vibe and then the food arrived… We just couldn’t be happier. Bad experience, we are well experienced Italian eaters, but this place has a bad price / quality. The price is really to high for the food you receive. The manager is stressed and pushy. We received, like all the other customers, all our food very fast, even when I asked after our antipasti for a bit more time, but that wasn't possible. They have a small menu (1 antipasti, 2 primi, 2 secondi). I would compare this place with a simple cantina without to much quality, but then the prices are to high (25€ for 4 very small antipasti). There are better places to eat during your trip at Isole Tremiti. Some places which we visited were a bit more expensive, but they offered -in my opinion- also much quality and...

Ci siamo imbattuti in questo locale pensando di fare un aperitivo e trovare un minimo di sollievo dal sol leone. La proprietaria ci spiega che è principalmente un ristorante ma acconsente a farci bere qualcosa. Manca mezz'ora all' apertura della cucina e alla fine decidiamo di fermarci per pranzo. Arrivano altre persone, la proprietaria è una forza della natura, è simpatica, alla mano, ha la battuta sempre pronta e inoltre io la definirei una persona verace. Non c'è la carta, il menù è scritto in una lavagna all' ingresso, lei ripete a tutti il menù del giorno senza stancarsi mai. Antipasti di pesce freddi, due primi a scelta e due secondi. Prendiamo un antipasto da dividere in due e due porzioni di riso cozze e patate. Buono l' antipasto, io ho adorato in modo particolare il tortino di frutti di mare. Il riso invece non ha rispettato le aspettative infatti aveva poco sapore , e mancava di condimento. La proprietaria chiede e nel sapere dell'insoddisfazione se ne dispiace molto. Parla con il cuoco che le da conferma che il riso non ha avuto il giusto tempo di posa, lei molto gentilmente ci offre un fritto misto di pesce per compensare. Il fritto era buonissimo , ben cotto, croccante esternamente e morbido all' interno e sopratutto non era unto oltretutto non era solo un assaggio, ma una porzione intera. Abbiamo molto apprezzato, è stato un gesto di grande umiltà. Forse in sala si respira un po' di caos, ma è un caos simpatico che strappa anche più di un sorriso e l' atmosfera alla fine diventa...
