If you ever find yourself near Gallarate and consider yourself a seafood lover, stop everything and make a reservation at l’Altra Botte. This isn’t just a meal – it’s a journey into the heart of Italian culinary excellence.
🐟 The Freshest Seafood Tower I've Ever Had From the moment the stunning seafood platter landed on the table, I knew I was in for a treat. A breathtaking tower of crudo (raw delicacies) served on scallop shells – each piece so fresh, it felt like it had just jumped out of the ocean and onto my plate. Salmon, tuna, shrimp, scallops, sea urchin, and more – every bite melted in my mouth with sweet, oceanic flavor.
The gold-flecked oyster shell was a nice luxurious touch – almost too pretty to eat… almost 😉
🍷 Wine That Matches the Vibe To accompany the seafood feast, we chose a bottle of Funtanaliras Vermentino di Gallura DOCG Oro – a premium white wine from Sardinia. It had elegant floral notes, crisp minerality, and a smooth finish that made it a perfect match for raw seafood. Not to mention the label and bottle design were so classy, I couldn’t help but admire it between sips. It’s labeled as an Exclusive Restaurant Edition, and it truly lives up to that name.
🍽️ The Antipasti – A Symphony of Flavors Before the main course even began, the table was filled with a creative selection of antipasti. Octopus, squid, smoked salmon, polenta bites, whipped seafood mousse, grilled vegetables – each dish thoughtfully plated and bursting with flavor. The textures, seasoning, and presentation showed the chef’s attention to detail and passion for his craft.
🍰 Dessert Heaven And just when I thought it couldn’t get better… a silver platter of exquisite mini desserts arrived under a glass dome like a treasure chest. It felt like choosing a piece of edible art. I picked a dark chocolate delight – soft, rich, and perfectly balanced in sweetness, plated with delicate chocolate drizzle.
🦞 Seafood Display Like an Aquarium On the way out, we passed by a display case of live lobsters and fresh fish on ice, proudly showcased like jewels of the sea. The restaurant clearly takes pride in its ingredients – and it shows.
🏛️ Atmosphere & Ambiance The restaurant itself is sleek and modern with elegant lighting, and the exterior glows like a gem on the corner of the street – warm, inviting, and buzzing with culinary energy. It’s the kind of place where you could celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in an unforgettable dinner.
⭐ Final Verdict: 10/10 l’Altra Botte delivers everything I love about fine Italian dining: extraordinary seafood, impeccable wine, artistic desserts, and a stylish, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a foodie, a wine lover, or just someone looking to spoil your tastebuds, this place will exceed all expectations.
I'll be dreaming about that seafood tower and Vermentino pairing for a long, long time. Bravo to the team at...
Read moreWe went to celebrate a birthday and I was first impressed by the service. Rosalyn was very attentive and she even suggested some dishes for myself as a vegetarian. I was impressed by the starter which was a potato pie with artichokes and pecorino cheese. The main was a tagliattele pasta with Thyme and was very tasty too. The dessert was a lemon pastiera which was very light and full of flavour.
The atmosphere was elegant and I could tell the waiters knew what they were doing, providing good suggestions and attentive to the needs of the diner.
We will definitely returning to the lovely restaurant in the...
