La Riva — Restaurant in Lesa

I was sitting outside so i did have a beautiful view of the lake but that was one of the only positives of this restaurant. The food was so expensive for what it was, i had the piece of meat and it was completely covered in the peppercorn sauce like it was trying to cover the bad taste, the piece of meat was just put straight in the oven without having any grill marks whatsoever. I understand that you are a fish restaurant but if you cant serve good meat then just dont put it on the menu. Last i had the panna cotta with the strawberry and it was horrible, the strawberry sauce taste like it was just some syrup from a bottle because it was so sweet and had a weird taste. Especially for the price point this is a horrible restaurant, acting like a chique restaurant and all but secretly being pretty bad.

After the response of La Riva i dont regret saying anything. Yes the meat wasnt good, it was medium-well done, the servers didnt even ask me how id liked it to be cooked. The sauce was alright but so much of it was terrible. The burger king nearby serves better food and service than this place that you can barely call...

We loved it here. It's a very tranquil location, even when it's very busy in Stresa it feels calm in Lesa. This restaurant is in the promenade and your view is the lake in front of you and the trees and umbrellas above you for shade. The evening ambience is lovely with the lights strung above, the citronella candles lit (necessary, a lot of mosquitoes in July!), and jazz music playing. The food was wonderful. We had the fritto di calamari to start (it is not an antipasto, it is a secondo but shared it works for a starter ). It had to be the most tender calamari we have ever had. I would go back for that alone. My husband had the scialatielli allo scoglio and I had the polpo. Both excellent. Caro/a proprietario/a del ristorante la Riva di Lesa, perchè deve darmi della maleducata? Io non l'ho offesa, Lei invece sì. In merito alla focaccia con tracce di verdure alla griglia, ho fatto presente subito al cameriere che la pizza aveva pochissimo condimento, ma il suo dipendente si è giustificato dicendo che si tratta della quantità di verdure usata normalmente e non non mi ha neanche lontanamente proposto di rifare la pizza. Mi dispiace solo non aver fatto una foto, così postandola, avremmo potuto raccogliere un po' di opinioni e capire se il mio giudizio sia stato troppo severo oppure assolutamente realista. Non so chi sia la signora che è venuta al tavolo a dire che è normale che una pizza cotta al forno a legna sia bruciata, per me non è così, e dire che a me la pizza piace anche ben cotta, ma non bruciata. Pure il fatto che fosse dura è dovuto al forno a legna? Io peraltro, non avrei detto assolutamente niente se il suo dipendente non avesse chiesto se andava tutto bene. Se si pone la domanda, bisogna mettere in conto che la risposta non sia sempre ciò che ci si aspetta. E soprattutto bisogna fare un po' di autocritica per migliorare e non insultare il cliente. Se Lei si irrita perchè, nella sua autoreferenzialità, ritiene che io mi sia lamentata senza motivo, io mi irrito perchè quando si spendono i soldi si vorrebbe avere in cambio il giusto corrispettivo, ossia cibo buono e preparato bene. Penso che anche Lei quando va a mangiare fuori abbia la stessa aspettativa. E' vero, ho finito la pizza, lasciando alcune parti. Avrei dovuto farmela rifare? Forse sì, ho sbagliato a non chiederlo. In questo ha ragione Lei. Le auguro una maggiore propensione all'ascolto delle critiche per poter migliorare....
