L'Altro Royal — Restaurant in Linguaglossa

Amazing pizza in the lovely city of Linguaglossa. We were staying at the footsteps of Mount Etna and wanted to have great pizza but avoid going to the touristy areas in and around Taormina and found this local hotspot. When we arrived very early for Italian dinner at 7:30pm it was almost empty but 30minutes later the whole restaurant was packed. And not surprising: Service was super-friendly and fast and their pizza absolutely delicious. We had two variations of their Pinsa and they were both great. Wonderful light and tasty dough, crispy on the outside and airy in the middle with delicious...

Mein letzter Besuch im hier war insgesamt eine erfreuliche Erfahrung, doch einige kleine Schwächen trübten das Erlebnis leicht.

Als Vorspeise bestellte ich die Bruschetta Pomodoro, die nicht nur äußerst schmackhaft war, sondern auch in einer großzügigen Portion serviert wurde. Die Zutaten waren sichtbar frisch – die Tomaten saftig und der Basilikum aromatisch. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Baguette, das wunderbar kross angebraten und gleichzeitig leicht war, sodass die Kombination perfekt harmonierte.

Die Hauptspeise, eine Pizza Bufala, überzeugte auf ganzer Linie. Der Teig war fluffig und hatte genau die richtige Dicke, während der Boden knusprig und gut gebacken war. Die frischen Zutaten – insbesondere die Büffelmozzarella – waren perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt und gaben der Pizza einen authentischen, mediterranen Geschmack.

Was den Service angeht, war das Personal sehr freundlich und bemüht. Positiv anzumerken ist, dass das Personal Englisch sprach, was für internationale Gäste sicher von Vorteil ist. Leider wurde sowohl die Vorspeise als auch der Hauptgang gleichzeitig serviert, was ich als klaren Minuspunkt empfand. Dies beeinträchtigte den Genuss, da ich die Bruschetta in Ruhe genießen wollte, bevor die Pizza kam.

Die Atmosphäre des Restaurants erinnerte eher an eine gemütliche Kneipe als an eine typische Pizzeria, was aber durchaus seinen Charme hatte. Die lockere, ungezwungene Einrichtung schuf eine entspannte Stimmung, die zum Verweilen einlud. Wer eine authentische italienische Atmosphäre sucht, könnte hier vielleicht etwas überrascht sein, doch das Ambiente hatte auf seine eigene Weise etwas sehr Einladendes.

Insgesamt war das Essen köstlich und die Qualität der Speisen überzeugte. Eine etwas bessere Taktung beim Servieren würde das Erlebnis jedoch...

Nulla da dire sul menu, però la posizione è preoccupante perché i tavoli (molto stretti tra loro) sono sulla strada in un luogo pericoloso e insalubre, con le auto che vi passano accanto. Le delimitazioni non sono sufficienti né sicure. E poi non è proprio l'ideale stare a tavola respirando i gas di scarico dei veicoli; meglio dentro, purché con l'aria condizionata.

Il titolare si è risentito di questa recensione. Mi dispiace che abbia solo provato a difendersi, anziché proporre una soluzione. Ha visto che cosa è successo a Caltagirone? Non c'è scappato il morto, ma ci sono sette feriti e alcuni contusi. Qua a Linguaglossa è ancora più pericoloso perché i tavoli sono allestiti su una curva, perdipiù con incroci accanto. Proprio perché il gestore non ammette i disagi e i pericoli di questa struttura, diamo una sola stella. Quando siamo venuti abbiamo chiesto un tavolo all'interno, ma ci hanno risposto che non era possibile. Purtroppo non potevamo andar via perché eravamo ospiti di un amico del titolare, ma se un giorno torneremo a Linguaglossa certo non andremo in questo locale. E non dica che "queste recensioni lasciano il tempo che trovano" perché non è la sola recensione negativa; legga meglio su internet e vedrà... in ogni caso il giudizio non si riferisce ai prodotti che sono buoni, altrimenti non avremmo dato...
