Trattoria Torretta — Restaurant in Lodi

Another day, another wonderful casual, rustic neighbourhood trattoria. Since I don't have an Italian nonna, I like and seek traditional home style food that makes the best of local favourites with seasonal menu. I have never been a fan of risotto, maybe because I had the impression that it is too mushy, but I was proven wrong with the Risotto with Zucchini Flowers, the meal not only splendid and substantial but memorable. We were still talking about how it good it was while walking to the car!😁 I am a new fan indeed. We did not plan on dessert initially but the friendly waitress had managed to sway us with a tempting Panna Cotta bathed in Strawberry sauce. This homely trattoria also provides a nice outdoor area to relish your meal. I am forever partial to places with the red gingham checkered tablecloth. A place best enjoy with a group of friends and family, order plates to share. Price: Happily affordable....

I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't have garlic in the kitchen - services was poor and lacked some much needed attention, food was below average and wouldn't reccomend it. your better off taking a 20 min drive for a panini at your local cafe

In response to the owners comment - firstly I'm South African and have the pleasure of living in a country with a large cultural and cuisine diversity and I've traveled to many places around the world as well as Italy so it's fair to say that your menu is out dated and your food lacks flavour as well as skill

Era un po' che mi girava di mangiare in questa trattoria che mi avevano consigliato e finalmente esperienza fatta. Le aspettative sono state assolutamente superate. Il posto è davvero carino ed accogliente, ricorda le trattorie di un tempo, quelle della gita fuori porta domenicale. Il ristorante si trova all'interno della corte di un edificio in piena Torretta (bella anche l'atmosfera di questo quartiere della città). La cucina è davvero deliziosa e prevede un menù in cui certamente i punti di forza sono i diversi risotti. Ma andiamo con ordine. Abbiamo preso un antipasto della casa con vari salumi, nervetti e cipolle e gnocco fritto. Lo gnocco è uno dei migliori mai mangiati grazie non solo all'impasto ben fatto ma soprattutto ad una frittura sapiente che ha reso il soffice cibo asciuttissimo e delizioso. Molto buone anche le cipolle. Peccato che di questo piatto mi sia venuta una foto orrenda. Poi abbiamo preso un risotto gorgonzola e noci. Le mie papille gustative hanno fatto festa. Cremoso e mantecato con maestria, cottura perfetta. Un filo abbondante senza esagerare la porzione. Se proprio devo fare una critica, ecco le noci si intravedevano ma non se ne sentiva la croccantezza che, immagino, nella mente dello chef, avrebbe creato contrasto con la cremosità del resto. Devo essere onesto fino in fondo però, non ne ho affatto sentito la mancanza, anzi. Alla fine dolcino (impossibile prendere anche i secondi, troppo pieno): un tiramisù ed uno stracchin gelad buoni. Abbiamo bevuto vino della casa (verdea nettare dei santi) e una bottiglia d'acqua. Alla fine un caffè. E qui arriva la più dolce delle note finali. Tutto questo 49 euro. Il tutto con un servizio rapido, attento (soprattutto alle esigenze di mia moglie che è celiaca, pensare almeno a dei grissini senza glutine sarebbe davvero una bella idea... anche perché, stavo dimenticando, anche il pane nel cestino è davvero davvero buono), gentile.
