Il Gabbiano — Restaurant in Lotzorai

Been there yesterday and frankly suggest not to go there as a non-Italian-speaker tourist; For starters a 20mins wait before being asked if we wanted something to drink, people are literally left on their own at the table (I’d say as usual if you are not a local), don’t even bother ask, one waitress only to take orders with all others spinning around like flies, without crossing your eyesight, never! However we ordered two pizzas which they served us in an other 40min (which is understandable for weekend) although pizza looked and tasted good (even tho it does not fit on the plate making it a hard work just to cut it up. Let’s have a few words on the location in which the premises stands 10/10 (but)….. tables and chairs were those white ones you d find at the local town fair, all dishes and cutlery were different but very well clean. Let’s get to the aftermath, I am now sharing my opinion with you from the “throne” I sat on like an hour ago and counting. Hopefully they will make their mind up and manage to improve their business. Purtroppo ho ricevuto un pessimo servizio. Ho chiesto una pizza con base rossa specificando addirittura "quindi senza mozzarella". Invece mi è stata portata una pizza con la mozzarella. Ho comunicato l'errore e ho chiesto con estrema gentilezza per favore se fosse possibile rifarla. Mi è stato detto di sì dalla giovane cameriera che mi ha portato la pizza ma poi è tornata la signora che ci aveva preso l'ordine dicendo infastidita che io però non avevo specificato "senza mozzarella". Abbiamo detto sempre con molta gentilezza che ovviamente avevo specificato ripetendo anche le parole esatte che avevo usato. Non mi è stato detto "scusate", né un "vi offriamo il caffè per il disguido" né nulla. Non è giusto essere accusati e trattati in questo modo per un errore da loro commesso. Semplicemente quando ho detto "base rossa, quindi senza mozzarella" non è stato scritto nulla nella comanda. Ero un po' dubbiosa, infatti, mentre ordinavo perché notavo che la signora ha iniziato a scrivere solo quando ho iniziato a dire gli ingredienti che volevo metterci sopra. La pizza era buona però assicuratevi che scrivano quello che state chiedendo se avete il dubbio di non essere stati ascoltati. Non ci tornerei. Nessuno vuole rischiare che gli si venga rovinata la serata libera dopo aver lavorato tutto il giorno perché si viene trattati con...

In short: great pizza, well priced. Drinks are affordable as well.

I just want to be clear: this is a tourist town. The prices at il gabbiano are very much affordable compared to where it is situated. The pizza was perfectly to my taste: generous toppings and little crust; thin layer of dough. Tastes are different of course.
