My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Tuscany and on our third night in the nearby area we were recommend this amazing restaurant by our hotelier. We had no booking, we turned up at 9.30pm and they accommodated us graciously and served food that blew us away. The atmosphere was incredible, the servers were helpful, knowledgeable, attentive. The little touches really were so special, I’m not going to give you any spoilers you simply will have to go and experience Antica Locanda di sesto. image our surprise when the bill was half what we had paid the evening before in Lucca. We returned every evening to the whole team greeting us like friends. Our only disappointment is we couldn’t visit on the Saturday as it was closed!! We had to SLUM it back in Lucca where everything became a comparison to ‘our lovely place’ imagine my husband bemoaning that the waitress in Lucca served him a beverage WITHOUT ice and lemon separately with a little silver tong. Pros: The local wine produced there is getting better! As the lady there said: “if it is your first time here don’t bother looking at the wine menu, grab our wine”. The wine is truly good and cheap also, so go for it.
The olive oil, La Maolina, is superb, I’ve bought a bottle to take home at the end of the dinner.
Even with the above mentioned, you still have 5 stars because the taste and quality...
