Ristorante San Michele — Restaurant in Lucca

Firstly I would like to comment on the exceptional service we received daily from Pascale & Eduardo throughout our 7 night stay. All the staff there are all so good at their jobs, but these 2 members of staff at the restaurant went above and beyond to make us feel right at home and we are so grateful for that.

Many thanks to the Chef as well for such delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. Such a wonderful dining experience each day, with great music and atmosphere, a skilled Sommelier and great variety of alcohol at the bar. I mostly enjoyed the recommendation of Zacapa XO rum with a wedge of orange and yummy cacao as a digestif.

Being from the Caribbean where we love our rum and chocolate, I very much enjoyed this treat and it made me feel right at home. I love this place and the great vibes from the staff so much and how authentically Italian it is. I will remember this experience forever and will most definitely eat here again when...

Rezension des Restaurants San Michele

Ich hatte mich aufgrund der zahlreichen positiven Bewertungen auf Google sehr auf meinen Besuch im Restaurant San Michele gefreut. Leider wurde ich von der Küche jedoch schwer enttäuscht.

Der Service war zwar äußerst zuvorkommend und freundlich, was einen guten ersten Eindruck vermittelte. Auch die Atmosphäre des Restaurants war angenehm, mit einer ansprechenden Einrichtung und einem gemütlichen Ambiente, das zum Verweilen einlädt.

Leider konnte die Qualität der Speisen mit dem Rest nicht mithalten. Das Schweinefilet, das Sous Vide zubereitet wurde, war tot gekocht und völlig trocken. Es fehlte zudem an grundlegenden Gewürzen – insbesondere Salz, das in nahezu jedem Gericht vermisst wurde. Die Geschmackskomponenten der einzelnen Gerichte schienen nicht gut aufeinander abgestimmt zu sein, was zu einer unausgewogenen und enttäuschenden kulinarischen Erfahrung führte.

Angesichts der zahlreichen positiven Rezensionen auf Google frage ich mich, ob der Koch möglicherweise gewechselt hat, da die aktuelle Qualität der Speisen nicht mit den hohen Erwartungen übereinstimmt. Es ist schade, dass das kulinarische Erlebnis so weit hinter dem ansonsten positiven Eindruck zurückblieb.

Insgesamt würde ich das Restaurant derzeit nicht weiterempfehlen, es sei denn, es wird eine deutliche Verbesserung in der Küche...

Five stars is an understatement. The food, atmosphere and restaurant staff were amazing. For a hotel the food was exceptional, they had a lot of options and used local produced products.
