Ristorante Borgo La Tana — Restaurant in Maratea

We were exploring around during the shoulder season. Found this to be the only full service hotel around for miles. We drove directly. It was THE highlight of our first stay in region. The hosts (and service) was some of the best I have ever experienced in travels. Every person we encountered was exceptionally warm and welcoming. We were in a clean and adequate room near the kitchen / internal prep area with a family like atmosphere around. Loved loved loved seeing the olives pitted and the pasta made and the invitations to interact. The white tablecloth restaurant experience was 5 stars all the way. And I dare you to find a better breakfast buffet anywhere! WOW. This really felt more like an upscale family owned and operated agriturismo stop - what a unexpected surprise. Locale “fanfarone”. Entri e l’atmosfera è assolutamente cafona, pareti bianche con qualche quadro di arte contemporanea, pilastri vetrati con dietro la parete grezza, miscuglio di led caldi e freddi che ti pugnalano gli occhi; mise en place strana… diciamo che hai l’impressione di essere a tratti in un ristorante di haute cuisine e per altri di essere ad una comunione degli anni 90. Pessima la presentazione dei piatti, decorazioni assurde (in foto vedete una zucchina sormontata da una carota 🤦🏻‍♂️), troppa rucola e tonno a fette abbastanza dozzinale. Francamente per un antipasto da euro 15 mi aspetto ben altro. Passiamo ai primi, saporiti e sicuramente più curati. Wij kwamen aan als gast voor een paar overnachtingen. Prima kamers, schoon en met een airco die zijn werk goed doet. Op de eerste avond hebben we een diner genoten in het restaurant. Het was netjes en de bediening erg vriendelijk. Voor ons was het erg licht, wat de sfeer wellicht iets minder romantisch maakt. Je ziet dan wel goed wat je eet. Zowel de tonijn als de zwaartvis waren doorbakken en droog, maar dat kan aan de Zuid- Italiaanse manier van bereiden liggen. Voor de hotelkgasten is er een ontbijtbuffet naast het zwembad. Toen de binnen kwamen dachten we aan een broodjeszaak, maar je mag aanwijzen wat je wil en krijgt het dan op je bordje gelegd. Wederom hele vriendelijke bediening.
