We had a very nice experience in the Sciamadda... the owner (?) was very gentle and explained to us every meal as the menu is only available in italian... you can get typical local products from the woods and from the sea, cooked with fine herbs. The children had some extra pasta (not on the menu), we enjoyed chestenut-flour pasta, wild boar ragout and baked fish. The chocolate-cake and the chestnut-cake as dessert were very special. Every meal was delicious, the wine tasted good... all in all a very good place to spend money for food and wine.
The interieur was nice, some shabby looking furniture, different tables and chairs, old and vintage (but cool) decoration on the walls, and old and interesting advertisements on the (toilet)walls...
Not a shiny place, not a place for the well dressed supermodel, but a place to feel good and relaxed, even with children... they can have their meal and then play on the nearby big piazza ;-)
We will come back next...

If you don't like pasta al dente (undercooked chewy crunchy pasta) remind the waiter that you prefer it cooked properly. The chicken dish is a bit funky and served crumpled in little tiny bits of chicken in an oily brothy dish so I wouldn't reccommend it but everything else was really good. Friendly accomodating fast staff. Their credit card machine broke and we had to do an eft the next day. Bring cash to this tiny but picturesque town ... Enjoy! Its...
Read moreA wonderful place with traditional foods that are a very welcome change from the usual places. My baked cod was exceptional and I tasted a couple of other dishes like the wild boar pasta and these were equally good. You can sit outside or in but for a group of 10 like ours they could only manage a single table inside. Really quirky and fun decor. Well worth the windy road to get there from the coast. There's a small car park 4 mins walk away. This is €1.50 per hour but the machine only seems to take €1 at a time. It's free after 8pm so you could arrive at 7:15 and just pay for an hour. Or try for in street parking the other side of town. Good buys service up there even better. Very...
