Out of all the restaurants we visited in the martano region this was by far the worst. All the others were from good to amazing. The place looks actually quite nice and inviting. However I think they ripped us off and served us below par food that wasn’t worthy to be called that . My suspicion is they did so because of us being tourists from abroad. The sugo in the orecchiette was tasteless and bland, any supermarket sugo tastes better, and there was hardly any sugo in the pasta. My partner is vegetarian and they offered to make taglerini with porcini mushrooms for her. The pasta was literally white with only two little pieces of mushrooms in it, and tasteless, and they even had the gall to charge eur18 for it and listed it on the bill as “piatto del giorno”, dish of the day. Incredible. And finally, my tagliata di manzo, cuts of beef on a bed of rucola salad with parmesan and balsamic vinegar was outrageously bad. I wondered why all the meat was buried under the salad, when normally you would show it off on top of the salad. It became obvious why when I started chewing on the meat, and i was shocked and couldn’t believe they served me meat almost impossible to eat. They obviously tried to hide the bad quality meat under the salad. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all and the guy behind the counter was even joking saying the restaurant is all ours when asking about a table. Let me also mention we had to wait roughly an hour between the salad and the pasta dishes. We visited many lovely places in Salento, but be warned of this place....
Read moreWe came here for dinner as a group of friends, most of whom were visiting from Argentina, and I wanted them to experience authentic local cuisine. Trattoria Nonna Consiglia was the perfect choice. The lovely owner prepared a selection of traditional antipasti just for us, followed by two large sharing platters of different pasta dishes so everyone could taste a variety of flavors. Everything was absolutely delicious and made with love. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere felt warm and genuine—just like dining at a local home. Highly recommended for anyone looking to taste real Salento hospitality and traditional food in a relaxed,...
Read moreGreat fresh food and cozy atmosphere. Traditional tasty food, generous portions at affordable price. The owner Tonia is extremely friendly, she will make you feel at home while guiding you through the menu. The antipasti are very filling, probably wise to take one and share between two people. Although their specialty is meat (veal, beef, lamb, horse) you can get a variety of seasonal veggies too, good choice if you are vegetarian! Highly recommended, I keep coming back since I first discovered it three years ago. Average price for a meal 15-20€/ea ...
