Armonia del Sapore — Restaurant in Martano

Wow. Don’t even know where to start. I’m struggling to comprehend why this place has no Michelin stars yet. I naively thought I discovered a gem of a place, but I later realised the chef Roberto Cornacchia is widely popular all over the region 😅 not only because his cooking talents but because of his hospitality. His team is basically like a family, a community of friends. I stumbled upon this gem in Martano due to work related projects, every time I return and visit yearly, even if only for 1 dinner, I truly feel at home. Food wise I’m always shockingly surprised about the food variety they offer: I challenge you to find better raw fish specialties than this, grandma’s pasta recipes and wine selections - last but not least, this master can accommodate any of your taste fantasies, I’ve been there with some picky clients who left mesmerised. I’m disappointed in myself for underestimating the name of the restaurant: Harmony of Flavours - I think it’s all in there, that’s the answer. Starters were great, atmosphere was nice sitting outside under the sky, but the mains were not that warm and a lacked a little flavour. The menu was broad and wine selection very good. While we appreciate our Italian was limited, we did try our best and initially the waiter was helpful and worked with us, but he seemed to lose interest and service deteriorated, especially as a more native Italians arrived who they seemed to prefer to serve. We had such a wonderfully unexpected experience and would absolutely recommend this restaurant for the food, atmosphere and service! Salvador was an excellent server and we had the chance to meet Roberto the head chef. They have beautiful lighting in the back garden.
