Torneremo presto a trovarvi. :) Antonio Mare.
The road climbs up the hills and after a few minutes by car, exiting the state road, we reach the Mille Sapori farmhouse in Pentidattilo, a characteristic village that has its roots in the Greek-Roman period, and rises 250 meters above sea level on Mount Calvario, the which, due to its curious shape, recalls the 5-fingered hand of a Cyclops. As soon as we arrive, a kind and smiling lady immediately welcomes us, who makes us sit and put us at ease, in a pleasant room with a suggestive view of the Strait of Messina, After a few pleasantries, the series of courses begins, as an appetizer. Eggplant parmigiana, stuffed peppers, olives, exquisite artisan cured meats, goat cheese, meatballs, and delicious caponata, as well as a good house wine. The macaroni with goat sauce we chose really deserved it. To conclude, very tender goat meat. Such are the abundant and excellent courses served that it is inevitable to stop at the end and sip an excellent homemade liqueur and a good coffee chatting amicably about the Calabrian tradition. The management is family, parents and children united by the same passion, enthusiasm and dedication to the palate and well-being of the customers. Add the notes of the masterfully played tarantella, the fresh and light air of the hills and the priceless view, from the restaurant terrace, of the nearby coasts of Sicily. Heartfelt thanks to all of you for welcoming humanity and your sincere and spontaneous smiles. We will be back to see you soon....
Read moreWe just drove bye and saw it by chance and decided to have lunch. The chef and the woman serving the food were very welcoming. The view over the hills, with Etna in the background is breathtaking. And the food was absolutely amazing. It is local Calabrese food, using only local ingredients. We only had the antipasto and the primo, because we had a big dinner planned for later in the evening. Due to a misunderstanding, we only got one antipasto to share between us, but we didn’t realise. We thought it was a lot for two, and everything was fantastic. Then we had a risotto with porcini, which was just as good. A big bottle of local wine was included. And everything was ridiculously cheap. Don’t miss this place if you are visiting Pentedattilo, or if you are in the vicinity. In fact, even if you are not near, it’s worth a detour. We will...
Read moreThat’s the place where you are going to enjoy a true Italian hospitality and great food. We went on a summer evening in August (I recommend to book because it can get pretty busy). The concept was simple: sit, eat what’s in the making in the kitchen and enjoy! And we truly did. We had starters, first course then the second with a side salad and finally fruit. The owner was passing through the tables asking if we wanted more. At the end, they also offered us a digestive drink. We paid around 20 including the wine of the house. What do you want more?!
They also have some rooms in their small b&b if you want to...
