La Corte Dei Mari — Restaurant in Messina

I went to Corte dei Mari to celebrate the graduation of a friend, who paid for the dinner. The location is gorgeous, but the first thing that stood out was that staff was unable to speak English, so the Italian members of our group had to help with translation (not a big deal though).

My friend created a fish menu, and requested an alternative one for: 4 vegans, one person with food allergies and a pregnant woman. The fish menu was plentiful, varied, and people seemed to like it... but the experience of those with the alternative menu was awful 👎

While the majority were enjoying various dishes the "special diet" people were offered one single plate with tiny portions of steamed vegetables, some potato and a tiny cous cous, and we had to ask if they could bring something else because we were left hungry.

The staff was not very helpful either: they weren't sure which things were suitable for vegans (like the cous cous or the sorbetto for example), and didn't even serve us the gelato cake, which was instead vegan, brought separately specifically for inclusivity.

Essendo uno dei pochi locali in cui è disponibile la pizza senza glutine, ed avendo mangiato del buon pesce in precedenza, ho deciso di prenotare per provare la pizza... mi dispiace dirlo ma ... da dimenticare!!! Servizio anche se cordiale completamemte inesistente! Ci accomodiamo alle 20.00, il locale era completamemte vuoto, ordiniamo un fritto misto, una pizza Margherita con patatine senza glutine, una pizza 4 formaggi e 1 pizza, la mia, Margherita con funghi freschi e prosciutto crudo e bevande varie. Arrivano la pizza senza glutine ... mancavano le patatine e l hanno riportata in cucina, riportata dopo 15 min circa fredda con le patatine calde! Il fritto è rimasto tutto era immangiabile un pug o di sale!! Cmq attendiamo le ns pizze... dopo 45 min chiediamo con tanta fatica ad un cameriere... nel frattempo il locale si era riempito e i piatti da ristorante arrivano nei giusti tempi... richiediamo.... dopo altri 30 min arrivano le ns pizze... la mia x farla breve è stata sbagliata x ben 3 volte, alla terza mi arrendo la pizza era fredda la base sempre la stessa me ne accogo perché la prima volta avevano messo prosciutto cotto e scaglie, la seconda prosciutto crudo e scaglie la terza la base appunto fredda il prosciutto crudo di pessima qualità, salatissimo spesso e pieno di grasso, nel frattempo si era cotto e sotto, le fatte erano ancora piene di scaglie il tutto coperto funghi che non erano né cotti né crudi. Inutile dite che cercando di spostare gli ingredienti anche la sottilissima base si era impregnata del sapore salato del prosciutto. Dulcis in fondo chiediamo il conto, x carità non ara salato, almeno questo, non ci viene chiesto né perché avevamo lasciato tutto, né perché non voleva portare nulla a casa. Mi dispiace tantissimo, un problema, una serata storta, può capitare ma il personale di sala può sicuramente far tanto, anche solo essere presente e non abbandonare a se stesso il cliente, sicuramente non mi sento di consigliarlo e...
