TRATTORIA DA PRIMO — Restaurant in Messina

A little gem hidden away. We stayed at Hotel Villa Morgana so this restaurant was ideally located just a 5 minute walk. We tried other restaurants in the area and they were either too full (you had to book in advance) didn’t want us in because we are English (haha ridiculous they took one look at us and said no) or were too far to walk to. We ended up eating here 4 nights out of 6. Each time we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, great portions and very reasonably priced. Purtroppo la nostra esperienza non è stata positiva: abbiamo ordinato degli spaghetti alle vongole che si sono rivelati degli spaghetti all'olio + 5 (cinque contate davvero!!!) vongole e 10 gusci vuoti al prezzo di 18 euro, se ben ricordo. A mio parere davvero vergognoso. Lo abbiamo fatto presente alle ragazze in sala ma non abbiamo ricevuto scuse né tantomeno sconti sul costo totale (caro!). Posso aggiungere, inoltre, che tutti i primi erano tendenzialmente scotti e che sono arrivati dopo lunga attesa, peraltro eravamo in quattro e uno dei quattro primi ordinati è arrivato circa 10 minuti dopo gli altri. Piccole carenze nel servizio del vino, tuttavia perdonate considerato che le ragazze che servivano erano giovani e comunque cortesi. Secondi piatti senza infamia e senza lode, comunque a mio parere porzioni poco abbondanti rispetto al prezzo pagato. Peccato, avevamo portato amici da fuori per mangiare un buon pesce ma non è stata la scelta giusta. La terrazza è carina ma purtroppo...
