The restaurant Bellavista offers excellent views on the straight of Messina and the close coastline of Calabria. There is an indoor and an outdoor area which is both very pleasant. The menu offers a good choice of antipasti (appetizers), primi (first dishes), and secondi (main courses). In addition, the wine list covers a great selection of regional and national wines at decent prices. The food was very fresh, great in preparation, and very tasty. Our raw fish was very fresh, and the selection of different types of fish was excellent. The prices may be higher than in other places but adequate to the quality, and the quantity served. Finalmente vado in questo ristorante Bellavista di Messina che me ne hanno parlato bene.Bella vista sul mare che fa sempre piacere ,ho visto i piatti sulle recensioni davvero belli.Il Ristorante si presenta tutto bianco come se fosse una sala ricevimento con due belle terrazze :una che va sul mare e l’altra vista mare. Esteticamente la location è anonima :nessuna pianta nessuna testa di moro ,non sembra un ristorante di mare ,non c’è nessun riferimento alla Sicilia ,non ha nemmeno delle belle decorazioni e anche i banchi di pesce anonimi.Ordiniamo ci portano un aperitivo offerto con un piattino di carta sotto stile Ikea che consiste in una piccola tartina piena di maionese immangiabile e un arancino con salmone :pesce peggiore che si possa offrire a meno che non si tratti di salmone selvaggio.Dopo di che ordino un piatto di crudo che consisteva in :4 minuscoli gamberetti crudi ,due Tartarine misura cucchiaio e uno scampo a metà non gradevole alla vista :si porta intero e sgusciato e una fettina di pesce tagliata spessa ...in sostanza pesce fresco ma anonimo anche questo .Altro antipasto fantasia della chef :non ci hanno spiegato il piatto porzione scarsa e tutto fritto.Ordino il loro cavallo di battaglia gli spaghetti bellavista composto da gamberi e Ricci anche qui delusione : Ricci inesistenti,gamberi erano spappolato al parer mio non freschi e la pasta era scotto e me l’hanno portata piena di brodo sullo sfondo ..stile tortellini in brodo ..altra portata di pasta fettuccine allo scoglio immangiabile e piena di olio.Io mi chiedo un un posto come Messina dove la materia prima è eccellente e con un costo abbordabile nei mercati come mai di mangia così male nei ristoranti di Messina e perché si ostinano a fare piatti Gourmet dove mangi male poco e paghi quanto il Nord..esperienza da non ripetere .Posto bocciato non tornerò mai più ..mi aspettavo di più da questo famoso ristorante..location anonima ,piatti deludenti ed infine ho dovuto sentire come sottofondo non il rumore del mare ma i Litigi tra il proprietario ed il cameriere inaccettabile !!! The view is unbeatable: right by the water. You can hear the sea breaking on the beach which is wonderful.

The side itself is quite minimalistic and clean and service is cordial and efficient.

I always eat the raw food plate or a tuna tartare which is always super fresh. I'd also recommend eating the grilled swordfish since it a stroke of the area. Their risotto with seafood is outstanding.

In terms of desserts, if you are a fan of chocolate ice cream, you should order the tartufo. I could eat three in a row.
