We stayed at the Locanda Dell'Oleificio for a week. We were warmly welcomed and our dogs were also welcome. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the rooms are clean and comfortably furnished. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. We were very satisfied. The price-performance ratio was right.
The staff are extremely friendly and courteous. We were able to have a good conversation with the staff as they spoke English and even some German. The nice young waiter prepared a wonderful evening for us and gave us excellent advice about the food and wine. We really enjoyed the open and friendly conversation with him.
We very much hope that the hotel owner appreciates her staff and their attitude to work. I am deducting one star, cause we unfortunately didn't have that feeling at times. She didn't seem to treat her staff very fairly, sometimes making them work far too long and being very dismissive and assertive in her dealings with them. In 2024, this kind of treatment should no longer be the norm, whether in the catering, hotel or other areas of life. Everyone should be treated with respect and consideration.
But all in all we were very satisfied and I will think about coming...
Read moreI hired out the whole of the Locanda for my 50th birthday- this was possible because we stayed in all the rooms and therefore the party didn't disturb any guests as they were all at the party! We had use of the restaurant, courtyard and 'fenile', which was the perfect setting for a party. We ate, drank and danced the night away! It was all absolutely perfect from the menù (platters, homemade bread, 2 pasta dishes and a food truck serving churros and sweet sushi), drinks (beer, wine and then the staff set up a cocktail bar in the fenile while we were all dancing) to the gorgeous setting in the rustic courtyard and buildings. The staff were amazing- super friendly and attentive, nothing was too much- they even dressed up in the 70s theme! I thoroughly recommend the Locanda as a B&B too. My family was extremely happy with the beautifully cared for rooms and the breakfast served in the morning. We also ate in the restaurant for lunch and dinner, again it was all faultless! I wouldn't change a single thing and was completely satisfied with the whole experience! Thanks guys and...
Read moreIn the numerous years that I have traveled and locations I have stayed, the “Locanda Dell’Oleificio has far surpassed them all. The beauty of the hotel (restructured farm house/ oil mill), but especially the HOSPITALITY. The Signora Theresa, greated us with fresh water and drinks and assisted us with a problem with our wheelchair and answered all our questions and exceeded all our needs. Her kindness is contagious as is her smile. If you are traveling to Verona, Mezzane di Sotto is only 30 minutes away from the center, located at the foothills of a mountain and surrounded by vineyards. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone especially if you have special needs as we did for wheelchairs. The food is excellent and genuine filled with local flavor and excellent service. They also serve and sell their extra vergin olive oil that is...
