If you want the truest Italian experience - come here!!! It’s an epitome of a local joint - a small friendly delicious no frills affordable lively self-service place, that gets packed with families, kids, grandmas, dogs in the evenings!

We’d never have found this place if it was not for a friend who lives in the area, and we’ve been coming here every time we’re visiting Milan for years now. We’ve never seen any other foreigners here, by the way.

The arancini with ragu was SO GOOD! We got the last 2 at about noon so don’t get there late! The pastries were good, espresso was fantastic. I was not a fan of the spleen sandwich, personally. It was done well, I just don’t think spleen is an organ I’d seek out again. (It was a texture thing I think - like eating flabby, watered down liver. I like liver, tripe, and other organ meats generally, but this wasn’t my taste.). Staff was very helpful and patient; we only speak English and there were only two folks there that spoke English that were both VERY busy, but they were kind and answered our questions.
