Osteria SPQ — Restaurant in Milan

We moved to the area a couple of months ago. On our first Friday of the move, tired and hungry, we dropped by SPQ - fairly late. We asked if they were still serving and a very kind waiter who spoke perfect English (because our Italian is terrible) looked in the kitchen and then said “certo!” As we were sitting down, we saw that they were stacking chairs in the back of the restaurant. Despite that it was clear they were getting ready to close, our waiter gave us the best service, joked around with us, and made excellent suggestions. Our starting plate of taglieri and gnocco fritto was the most amazing dish for a tired and hungry family. The lardo on top of the warm gnocco fritto- it just melts and wow! My son ordered the baby ribs and loved it. IT's the only thing he orders now when we go. The pastas? Perfetto every time.

What also keeps me returning besides the delicious food, is the service. I was so impressed the first time at how welcoming the staff was even though it was so late. We’ve had the same waiter every other time too and he’s patient and lets us practice our terrible Italian. Grazie!

Mio marito ed io, quando abitavamo a Milano, ci andavamo spesso e ci siamo sempre trovati magnificamente sia per l'attenzione in cucina che per il servizio. Il ristorante si trova in un punto della vecchia Milano che è piuttosto facile trovare. E' difficile trovare percheggio. Sappiate che nella stretta via dietro al locale, ci sono delle vecchie rotaie del tram che non sono più usate e lì, i può pacheggiare, sempre facendo attenzione al pasaggio delle macchine. Nella bella stagione apparecchiano nel cortiletto circondato da siepi verdi e rampicanti che proteggono il luogo.

As soon as you enter you feel welcomed like at home. Simone gives you the best restaurant experience, takes his time to explain the menu and food. (in English and Italian) The deep dish style pizza is the best I had in Milano! Also recommend the house wine and deserts, the Tiramisu and Limoncello cake are perfect finish to a wonderful meal. Absolutely fair prices and good atmosphere. Worth the visit for anyone who loves authentic food. See...
