Borgo Antico — Restaurant in Minervino di Lecce

Visited this restaurant twice during our stay in Minervino.

The first time for an afternoon coffee and bite to eat. Service was super friendly, as if they were glad we visited ☺️ Pizza and espresso were delicious. Prices were modest, and servers continued to check on us while we chatted.

The second time we came for dinner after being turned away from the local “fancy” restaurant. We sat outside in view of the church — the weather beautiful even in mid-July. The food and drinks were phenomenal. We shared meatballs, macaroni ragu with smoked cheese, and veal filet with a side of puréed fava beans. Everything was fantastic....

We’ve ordered fish of the day and pasta. Fish was cooked well, but really lacked any kind of seasoning. Side dish of spinach was very bland as well. Pasta was fine. The rating is more to do with service. It took us a long time to order, I had to look for the waitress. We’ve ordered wine, which she forgot to bring us. Posticino molto molto carino.. Scoperto per caso purtroppo quasi alla fine del nostro soggiorno, ma diventato immediatamente punto di riferimento dalla colazione la mattina, al caffè dopo pranzo, al drink dopo cena.. Titolari fantastici e premurosi a tal punto da procurarci frutta appena colta per le nostre colazioni (dopo aver saputo che non ne avevamo nella struttura in cui soggiornavamo!!).. Collaboratori all'altezza del posto, educati (e non è cosa scontata!), professionali ed allo stesso tempo simpatici e divertenti. Insomma esperienza strapositiva!! La sera, seduti al tavolino, questo posto regala momenti di puro relax, accompagnati da una gradevole musica di sottofondo, luci soffuse e profumi inebrianti.. Ed a proposito di profumi, ne parlo in ultimo, ma non per minor importanza (anzi!!)...entrare nel bagno di un locale pubblico e trovarlo profumato, più che pulito, direi lucido, e con asciugatore mani con aria calda, non è per nulla scontato! Sarà che amo particolarmente i dettagli ed il bello, faccio caso a certe "delicatezze". Auguro a questi ragazzi tanta fortuna!
