Yumiko ristorante sushi — Restaurant in Monfalcone

We visited this place after a recommendation of a friend because we wanted to try a different sushi experience. The place is nice and clean. I appreciated the "open kitchen" style where you can watch the making of your sushi. The food was good, as you can find it in many other restaurants with similar reviews. The "all you can it" has almost no limitations on the menu. The orders are made on a pre-printed card and it makes it very hard to track your orders, what was delivered and what not (compared to restaurants that use tablets). Worst everything I have ever experienced because of multiple reasons. Firstly, the service was careless, incomplete and impolite. Nobody explained the restaurant concept, the table was set very hastily and completely wrong and my boyfriend actually went inside to find soy sauce because they did not provide any and it was impossible to get the attention of a waiter. Secondly, the sushi was extremely bad according to Belgian/Flemish standards. The rice resembled basmati more than sticky rice, and the rolls were very sloppily rolled. The food the plating and the services was excellent. The interior is modern and cosy, a great ambience for dining with family or a romantic date or with friends. The menu list works with QR code (which i find it very hygienic) so you just have to download a QR code reader app if your smartphone doesn't have it yet. (nothing to worry because someone will assists you on how it works). Their price for "menù fisso" is 2 or 3 euros higher than the other Japanese/Chinese restorants around or nearby Monfalcone but i guarantee you all its worth it.
