This has to be the most overrated restaurant in the whole Tuscany.
Don't get me wrong - the restaurant setting is rather charming, beautiful outdoor seating area and a lovely pavillion filled with pretty plants and lamps. However, if you are a true food lover - simply don't go here.
If you are bougie influencer without a refined palate, this might just be the place for you - it is highly instagrammable for you and your expensive silk outfits with all its magnificently blooming bougainvillea in the garden. You and your instagram followers will love it!
If you care about good service and most importantly, delicious food (because that's Tuscany usually!) you will most likely be dissappointed unless you also belong to the extremely pretentious clientele that fills this restaurant with a soulless atmosphere accompanied by tasteless music.
All of our food we ordered was more than bland, the steak which we were served was overcooked on a limpy bed of salad, the truffle taglatelli for 18 euros was not even al dente. Our creme brullee tasted as if it was 2 days old with a stiff and gritty texture. The parfait was as bland and boring, the best part was the fruit served with it that seemed to be sprinkled with rose water to boost flavor.
Our waitress was extremely disinterested in us, she would even ignore us to the point where we would have to get up and get a different waiter inside the restaurant to get our attention.
The list of bad things could go on - but I will leave it to this.
You will have a much more adventurous experience food-wise if you go to for example Osteria San Vivaldo, where the food is out...
Read moreThis is a place we come to occasionally and love very much. First of all, a heartfelt thanks to the lady who is the owner of the hotel🙏🏾 she is a wonderful and very sincere person. Secondly, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff working in the food service, from the kitchen to the service. They are definitely very interested, they do their job with love and a smile. They gave us a great night🙏🏾 However, unfortunately, we were not satisfied with the staff in the reception department. I would like to point out that the guests who come here are generally people with a certain culture and economic power, but it is really sad that the staff working at the reception condescend to the 20 € room charge in front of the guests. Since our guests have babies, we had a 1 hour delay to collect them (no facilities of the hotel were used) and we mentioned this to the employee who received the payment, but she was very nervous and unsympathetic about it. Here, believe me, the money received is not important, but it was a big disappointment for us that you behaved in a way that condescends to small accounts in front of customers staying at your facility and spending money. Unfortunately, we ended all these good experiences in a negative and humiliating way in front of our guests. It is really sad that such a beautiful and attentive place employs such...
Read moreWe were recommended this place by both family and friends. Our aim was to eat truffles. The restaurant isn't easy to find, they are pretty far from major cities. First impression is good, with a large yet cozy room inside and a patio outside. The menu is fairly short and focuses in cheese and meat, mixed with pasta of various kinds. I opted for grilled cheese with truffles as a starter, just good, followed by tagliolini with truffles which were well prepared but with not a huge amlint of truffles, still a very strong contender for best dish. As the second dish we ordered fried steak; we were initially skeptical by what could be perceived as heresy, but were pleasantly surprised by the result. The dish is a slightly thinner Fiorentina steak which is then fried and served with caper sauce and it results in a crunchy outside with a tender inside. Overall a good choice. Finally I tried the Pinolata which is a cream pie with pine nuts on top; my reference was the version prepared by my aunt (I know, not really fair) and while this one didn't really compare I found the result more than acceptable. Price is slightly high but fair, all things considered, at around 60-70 per person. Service was normal. Definitely...
