This was our third time staying in Montalcino, but only our first time eating at Caffe Sant'Angelo, and we are so happy that we did. We loved it here so much that we came here twice during our 1-week stay in Montalcino.
All of the food was incredible! The tortino di pecorino (layers of thinly sliced pears layered with sheeps milk cheese, and warm honey to drizzle over it on the side) was delicious ! Pici alla gricia (thick hand rolled pasta with alot of crispy pancetta, and cheese) was incredible! One of our favorite dishes that we had during our 2 and a half weeks spent in Italy! Incredible! So flavorful and perfect in every way. Salsicce al sangiovese (sausages stewed in Sangiovese), was another favorite, so much flavor, soft, and delicious. Finally, the cheesecake was our favorite cheesecake that we've ever had.
Grazie mille Pino! We loved everything and will be back...

Everything we had was just stunningly delicious, high quality, local specialities made with love and passion. You can feel it and taste it in every dish. For primo, we ordered a mix of antipasti recommended by the capo/chef of the restaurant. Tortini di pecorino: HIGHLY recommended! As secondo, the tagliata was perfectly cooked. A few bottles of the famous Brunello di Montalcino alongside and you are in tuscan gourmet heaven. Prices are unbeatable. Bring some time with you and don't stress the chefs while they are doing...

A warm flan like dish made with pecorino cheese served on top of extremely thin sliced pears with a little drizzle of honey. Spectacular. Then came the Spaghetti alla Amatriciana… the best I’ve ever eaten. All this along with 2 glasses Brunello, all for €25.50! Immediately made reservations for 3...
