LA PINETA ristorante griglieria — Restaurant in Monte/Monti

We had a magnificent dinner at La Pineta. There may be a menu di mare 🐟🦐🐙, a menu di terra or there may be the opportunity to enjoy a meal that features both, the latter of which we had the pleasure to do! Guests are delightfully surprised course after course by the very fresh and thoughtful dishes the kitchen chooses to serve.

The circular space is beautiful and modern with, on each side of the dining room tables, an open flame for grilling meats and fish and a pizza oven. The sliding glass doors that make up most of one side of the restaurant showcase a stunning panoramic view of Monti, the surrounding countryside, and the mountains in the distance.

The meal began with a selection of local cheeses (ricotta salata and pecorino Sardo) followed by a generous and diverse array of fresh and flavorful antipasti di pesce, including insalata di mare, grilled prawns in a light Vermentino sauce, and mussels from Olbia. The primo piatto was a delicious trofie in pistachio pesto with clams and shrimp. Grilled steak followed, the outside of which was seared to perfection and the inside a perfect medium rare. We very much enjoyed the local house Vermentino with these wonderful dishes. Dessert consisted of a delightful duo of tiramisu: classic and pistachio, both fluffy and flavorful. Of course, the local mirto was not to be missed to conclude the meal.

Quality is outstanding. Service and pacing were optimal. The views are breathtaking and the restaurant interior is impressive. Everything about La Pineta is wonderful. The meal was prepared perfectly, with much care and pride for the local ingredients and regional recipes. The seafood was exceptionally fresh and flavorful, the apertivi dishes were delectable, and the steak was so tender and well-seasoned, it melted in my mouth. It was cooked over the fire built along the side of the restaurant in view of the diners - the view on the other side was out the floor to ceiling windows curved to give a show of the entire town from up above and the mountains in the distance. Wow! What an experience! We visited La Pineta on the way to Olbia because of the positive reviews and it was the discovery of our holiday! We were greeted very professionally by the owner who guided us through the menu. The food (two menus "from the land", one with pasta and one with steak) was amazing! Only the best ingredients, everything prepared with love and skill. The wine was delicious too. For dessert we had the classic and the pistachio Tiramisu, which where both wonderful.
