Casolare dei Fiori — Restaurant in Montecarlo

Booked a week here towards the end of July. Self catering apartment with two bedrooms, shower room/toilet, dining/kitchenette with air con and very welcome mosquito nets on all windows. A farm which provides holiday accommodation - agriturisimo - to supplement income. This was a flower farm and the scent of flowers was lovely. It would have been interesting to see around the farm but this wasn't offered and we didn't like to be intrusive. ||||We were well received on the Saturday when we arrived but we were left to our own devices after this. They also do weddings and they were busy preparing for a wedding the day we arrived (as well as the day we left). During preparation for the wedding and the event itself, the pool seemed to be out of bounds. ||||The apartment itself (Rosa Rossa) was one of about 4 that were available. It was on the first floor with a view over the pool which was handy for keeping an eye on our boys. The decor and set up of the apartment was great. While it was mostly clean, on our arrival, the kitchen needed a bit more attention with internals of cupboards and utensils not very clean looking and requiring a fair bit of attention. We also inherited the left over food remains of the previous occupants and had to dispose of these ourselves. However, it was handy having the use of the washing machine which was on site, near the pool. ||||The location was ideal for exploring some of the locations around: Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, etc. A very peaceful area and a real sense of living in rural Tuscany rather than in a touristy place....

After 3 weeks at Casolare dei Fiori we have most good words to tell. It was special relaxing due to we had 3 weeks of sun and 35 degree C, and the place had a great pool to chill down when it got too hot. We also noticed it was possible to book for shorter periods than week or weeks. On the minus side the owners should have a better check on a regular basis if the contacts in the apartments worked, light bulbs did not work and there should be in the apartment a map of all facilities could be used. A map of the local area with shops and restaurants/pizzerias in addition information on when they had an event in the garden and they expected it to close. In our 3 weeks there was 2-3 weddings taken place with no information just noticed that we better get out of the garden and the pool. I have read in another review it was possible to order food when they had these events, but no information about that was given either. The final touch from the owners is missing along with a better structure in the way they run it not just a left hand business...
