This restaurant is an incredible pearl! The entrance to the very modern dining area is hidden from the street, something that should perhaps be better indicated to attract more clients. However, the location is such that only people that are intimate with the restaurant will end up dining here, or perhaps those who read this review.
And a magnificent experience it is. We were a table of 4 with two kids and ended up for a lunch with only one other table of clients. We were served appetizers as would be expected in a Michelin rated restaurant, not in a traditional Italian restaurant. The service was delightfully relaxed and pleasant. Prices for the menu are very low and are paid by course, you can choose any plate from the menu instead of a typically much more limited choice. And what a delight the food was. As it is a buon ricordo restaurant (only one in Le Marche) they serve a traditional dish on a specially designed plate, in this case a traditional lasagna with a recipe dating back centuries from before tomatoes were used. Instead they presented a cardamom spiced meat lasagna, with an abundance of truffle. Very unexpected indeed.
The female chef came to greet us afterwards and was visibly emotional when she heard we had had a great time and we greatly enjoyed the food. A lady as kind as the sympathetic waiter.
Last note about the wine list: I was blown away. I found entries I would only expect to find in a three star restaurant. The wines were very reasonably priced, even for Italian standards. We ended up visiting the cellar with said waiter, which was a nice ending to an incredible meal. We were told the chef was not only an experienced sommelier but also one of first female sommeliers in the region. That would explain a lot, although even then not often does one see a bottle of Romanée-Conti up close!
I except to experience great food in Italy, but this was unforgettable and in many ways even...
Read moreModern atmosphere with nice spacing between tables. Server is very nice and knowledgeable. He gives you space and time to decide your order. Attentive to your tables needs. Great music! Not the usual pop soundtrack but more jazz and at volumes one can converse over easily. Food is very well prepared and not the usual offerings. You get to eat marchigiana specialties like Prince sgrassi which is hard to find executed this well. The ‘Cheffa’ has some wonderful flavor combinations on offer. Also available on site is an enoteca with a variety of...
